Yak and Yeti is owned by Landry's....the same people that own T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe. They have their own discount program. Their card is $25 and you get a $25 credit....you then get a $25 birthday credit each year and earn points with each dollar spent toward additional credits.

The advantages to tables in wonderland are that it pays itself off very quickly, it's good an all parts of the meal unlike what you get with the dining plan, it is good on alcohol, and can be used for multiple trips for a relatively small up front cost.

It's really just free tips...but when you're talking about the disney pricing that is pretty significant. we have gotten it for years and it usually emds up being a 300 dollar or so discount over the course of the year.
The dining plan also is not the deal it once was...when it was first introduced - with gratuity and appetizer - it was a much better deal. Now...not so much. If you do the math you get about 20% off the cost with either method...so it's kinda how you choose to play it.
TIW is the more "adult" choice...as it doesn't limit the type of foods you eat each day and includes the rare alcohol discount...

Of course...there's "free dining"...but as is well known but seems to be not well believed is that they they crank up the room rates to eliminate the package discount so you are - in fact - paying for your free dining...and the end result discount seems to be about what the discount any other way works out.

Another vote for TiW - DDP and DxDDP were just too much food. We did TiW this year and it has paid for itself already. As a bonus, we have now gotten used to a glass of wine with dinner (since at Disney, we can relax and actually taste our food! lol).

Another reason it works for us is we tend to tip at or greater than 20%, so unless we have exceptional service, this keeps our tips at 18%.

It looks like the only places not on the list that I wanted to go to on the next trip are Yak and Yeti and WPE.

Yak & Yeti currently honors Annual Pass discounts of 10% (we got the Seafood Curry - yum!). WP (assuming they mean WPDR not WPE) = 20%. All Ears

I don't know if you have Annual Passes, but some folks get one person in their party an annual pass, just to get the $25 discount and additional dining and parking discounts. MouseSavers

We were thinking about getting one as well. Just wanted to point out that there are some discounts with the Annual Pass for dining that are not included in the TIW card. They have the restaurants listed on the Disney website under the Annual Pass. There are exclusions though and it is for 10 percent off, mostly at lunch.

Quick question, am I right in my assumption that since the CS restaurants in Epcot don't take TiW, that the F&W booths will not have a TiW discount either?

Nope! We don't like the DDP but love the TIW we usually go 3 times a year when we get it so more than pays for itself

We also like TIW than DDP. We usually go for 8~10 days, twice with the annual pass. We are more share an appetizer and have each entrees family. We are so full after the meal than we cannot eat dessert right away. TIW more than pays itself on our first trip since we usually do 1~2 TS/day.

This year for the first time, we are taking extended family and it will be more savings since there are so many of us.

I usually do the dinning plan but this year I was thinking about getting the TIW card. I started thinking about it, with the dinning plan it's paid for up front, and less math to keep up with when you get your credit card statement or room charges. I did the math and I would come out saving more by getting the card but the dinning plan is just so darn easy. I still don't know.

Can anyone tell me if the TiW card can be used with the Fantasmic! Dining Packages? I know that the card is good for a regular meal at the Hollywood Brown Derby, but I'm just not sure it's good for the dining package.

None of the dinner packages are covered by TIW including Fantasmic, Candlelight Processional, 3D Dessert Discovery during F&W, and I believe the Wishes Dessert party in MK.

is there an automatic 18% gratuity added to your drinks ? like at La Cava for instance ?

La Cava del Tequila does not take Tables in Wonderland, much to the regret of many of us! And yes, if you order drinks in a lounge that does accept TiW, you'll have gratuity added to that.

The only places without gratuity added are the counter/quick service locations that take the card.

Does anyone know if La Hacienda de San Angel takes the TIW? We are also thinking of doing TIW this year rather than the DDP. Also at the lounges do they add the gratuity automatically too? I am so glad I found this thread it has been so helpful to me!!!

Not sure if I saw this question answered about La Hacienda, but they did take the TIW card this past May 2011 even though they weren't on the list of participating restaurants.

I think TIW works out to be a better deal then the DDP. I would usually rather have an appetizer and an entree then an entree and dessert. With the TIW I can order whatever I want, and not worry about getting the most value, especially since I usually order the cheaper vegetarian options at TS restaurants, and I don't feel like I have to get a dessert.

I'll have both next trip, but it's still worth getting TIW for me, since then I have the TIW for signature restaurants and TS breakfasts, (which I usually don't use my DDP credits on,) and appetizers and drinks I end up paying OOP for.

I think it may depend on how many kids to adults ratio you may have to see if TIW works out better or not. I calculated a day at Epcot with my family of 6 (3 adults/3 kids) and it seems like I will save $60 with DDP for that day compared to $35 which I would have saved with the TIW card. For example, Biergarten:

3 adults - $118.20
3 kids - $ 57.48
Total - $175.68
TIW discount = $35.14

With the DDP, adding in the QS meals, drinks, desserts and snacks - total came to $271.44. The total amount that the DDP comes out to is $208.68 which makes the DDP savings a total of $62.76.

I agree though, with adults the TIW is much more convenient so you can order all the drinks and apps you want.
