If I purchase an AP, can I purchase a TIW card anytime during the AP period and still have a one year TIW card or does the TIW period have to match your AP period?

The TIW period is a year from when you buy it (actually -- not exactly... I think it ends at the end of the month you bought it, during the next year -- if you bought it now, it would be good until the end of July, 2010) regardless of your AP expiration.

You are correct. I bought my AP on Saturday at DTD using the 10% discount and applied a one day park hopper. I don't actually go back to the parks until Sept 3rd. I will buy my TIW card on Sept 3rd, and it will be good for one year from that day, even though my AP was activated on June 27th.
