Unless I am doing my math incorrectly {entirely possible}, I have calculated that the DDP will be the most economical and best fit for us, vs the DDP. We ( me and DH ) will be purchasing the DVC deal on 2 PAP's on our trip in November. I have factored in the costs of our ADR's on the high end. We are there Nov 24-Dec 1. {leaving in the a.m. Dec 1. } our ADR's are: CP Breakfast, twice. Chef Mickey dinner, 'Ohana dinner, Yak n Yeti lunch, Shula dinner, and CG dinner. I come out with the basic DDP costing about 50.00 more, BUT the DDP will give us QS meals and snacks. I did NOT factor in any other meals/QS/snacks other than the ADR meals using TIW. So I figure the extra 50.00 for DDP a better deal, as it will give us the QS meals.
BUT here is the rub. We are planning a second trip, with us, Our DD, Son-in-law, and 3 kids (2 considered adults), next Nov 8-16. We will NOT be doing the DDP, WAY too much $$$, especially since we can prepare breakfasts, some dinners, at our DVC Villa..and we enjoy going out for pizza, etc. BUT, for the ADR's we'll do...{most the same as above, minus CG, and Shula's just for DH and me.} THAT's where I think the TIW would be worth it!!! With so many of us!
So...do I spend a bit more THIS November to save more next November, { best use of the TIW would be to use it on TWO trips, right? } or stick with the DDP for us this November, purchasing TIW for only the second trip. We will NOT be going to WDW in 2014. Would love to save the most $$$ possible factoring in both trips. I don't know what to do!!! :confused3 Oh, and do you tip on the discounted amount with TIW, or on the original cost? I calculated the tip on the original amount.

I think the TIW would be the best option. It will pay for itself in your first trip. Also, see if you can get a room discount on any of your dates.
They factor in the TIW tip, 18%, on the discounted cost.

I say redo the math. Your four buffets are around $125 pp, but that's 4 nights of DDP which would be $220 pp. Your CG even with the highest priced meal and dessert is under $70 and that's 2 credits, so $110 for DDP. Yak n Yeti is under $40. My total comes to $235 without the TiW discount, but your 7-night DDP is $385. That's $150 difference for those QS and snacks.

AND you still have Shula's which does take the TiW, but not DDP.

My vote is the TiW.
