How far in advance does TiW usually announce special dining events?

Also, is it only possible to purchase this onsite at Disney, or can I purchase online or by phone?

I have an AP for the first time, but since I'm not a FL resident I haven't bought in to TiW, thinking it wouldn't be worthwhile. But, if there's a TiW special event during one of my trips to WDW, I would want maybe want to do that.

How do non-FL residents feel about TiW? Is it worth it?

Not very far in advance. I did attend an event in December, but I had maybe a couple weeks advance notice in email. You have to be sure to ask to be put on the email distribution or you might never find out about these events (until someone posts here on the DIS).

You have to book ASAP, because the events are limited and sell out.

Buying the TiW card just for the events is a poor way to use it. The event I did cost over $100, and that's on top of the membership to join. Because I know I would spend more than $375 in meals that accept the TiW card, I knew it was a good time to buy the card. If you don't think you'll spend that break-even point or more, it's not a good idea for you to buy it.

And, I'm from Chicago, so that's my .02 as a non-Florida resident.

Who do you ask? As a non-FL resident, I'd like to be on that list!

I just sent them a note a few days ago asking about events for April (right after they sent the March events notice) since we will be there then and the response I got was "as soon as we can, we will announce our events for April, May, and so on". Not much of an answer, so I didn't get any insider info!

The address I used was:
WDW Tables In Wonderland <WDW.Tables.In.Wonderland@disney.com>

How do you get put on the email distribution list? Thanks!
