Has anyone purchased a TiW discount card in the last week or so?

Someone posted that when they recently purchased, the CM said Disney was phasing out the TiW card.

Wondering if anyone else was told the same thing?

I hope not, this is a wonderful perk for us AP holders!

Didn't sound like that when I called to inquire about renewal. And all the email talk about how much is going to be going on event/class/fun wise for the TIW card holders in the future...so I think it is here for a while!

I bought one on 12/19. No one said anything about it being phased out.

Tables in Wonderland - The dining discount card that gives you 20% off most meals, including booze. It's only available to annual pass holders and Florida residents. Cost is around $65 a year.

It's a great deal..

Oh yea, the old Disney Dining Experience card.
We have used it since it was just available to us Floridians. It would sure be typical Disney to take away one more benefit from it's guests.

How do you get a TIW card? Do I call Guest Services? We are Florida residents, and I'm thinking about getting the annual pass for WDW. We only live about 5 hours away, so a two day here and there would be just what we need.

It's still listed on the passholder web site...and FYI its $75 for AP holders now.

You can get the TIW card at any Guest Relations window at the parks or DTD now. You used to have to call a special number for Epcot Dining (as the old DDE was done out of Epcot), but it isn't necessary any more. If you want to get it in advance anyways, you can call (407) 566-5858, but the clock starts running when you order it. However, its not exactly 12 months - its usually 12 months + some amount of time. I believe currently its 12 full calendar months after you order it, or something like that.

For FL residents I believe it costs $100, so if you are thinking about the AP, remember it saves you another $25 off TIW.

NOTE: If you want to get it in advance, give at least two weeks for processing and mailing. If you are close to traveling, just do it at Guest Relations.

Wait a minute! Where did you hear that it is $100 for Florida residents? Our last renewal, it was $65!

I believe it went up for 2009. I know it is more expensive than for AP holders, and they went up to $75. I can't say I've heard of a renewal discount, but it doesn't mean one doesn't exist.

I think FL Seasonal Pass holders may qualify for the $75.

Edit: The passholder discount is described as being $25 off the regular price, with the discounted price being $75, so the regular price is $100. I believe only FL residents and AP holders can even get it.

Thank you Doconeill for all of that info! :)

Golly! The rates are just going up and up and up....:(

Just like everything else at WDW. BTW, when I bought mine in December, they told me it was good for 15 months, just like my annual pass.

Hmmm...I haven't heard of that. Did you check the expiration printed on it?

Maybe they are only going to phase out the TIW name in favor of the much better, original name of DDE. :rolleyes1
