So, my family is in the air on their way as I type this, and I will meet them tonight. We were considering the TIW card, but I had a quick question. Does Captain Jacks in Downtown Disney take the TIW card? They plan to eat dinner there tonight before I arrive. The TIW site says they take it, but I've read on other sites they take it for lunch only. I will have my wife buy the card when she gets to the parks if they do take it for dinner. Otherwise I will buy it tomorrow.

I've never heard of anyplace that takes TiW for lunch only. Other than the actual holiday blackout dates, the TiW card discount is suppossed to be available all the time.

Here is what it says about the TIW program on the annual passholder's site. It doesn't say lunch or dinner, so your family should get the discount.

20% discount on all food and beverages at 99 participating Resort hotel and Theme Park restaurants (discount is valid for a party of up to 10 Guests).

I copy and pasted this directly from Disney's website,

Cap'n Jack's Restaurant:
Save 10% off the regular price of food and non-alcoholic beverages during lunch. Discount not available on the following dates: New Year's Day, January 1, 2012; Easter, April 8, 2012; and Mother's Day, May 13, 2012. Special events excluded.

It appears TIW is only available at lunch.

Several other restaurants have 20% at lunch, 10% at dinner.

Here's the website...http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passholder-program/dining-discounts/

This is for the AP discount. And yes many of them are for lunch only.

TIW is available for both lunch and dinner and for alcoholic beverages.

The lunch only discount for Cap'n Jacks that you may have heard of relates to the AP and DVC member discount and not TIW. It takes TIW for dinner with full 20% discount. There is in fact no restaurant that accepts TIW and does so for lunch only or for less than the 20% discount.

You should use the TIW website to confirm information. http://tablesinwonderland.com
I think the Passholder one is easy to mix up AP discounts and TIW discounts. I agree with those that said Cap'n Jacks will accept TIW card for dinner. You can call the dining line and ask too.

I can confirm that at almost all sit down restaurants on property (see the TIW web site for the list) any meal is eligible for TIW and it does include alcoholic beverages (even if without a meal). Note too that it is honored at some counter service locations at resorts (such as All Stars, Port Orleans and Saratoga Springs but not others like Animal Kingdom Lodge and Contemporary for example).

It is also honored by counter service locations (Flame Tree, Pizzafari, Restaurantosaurs) in Animal Kingdom.
