I cant decide if I should purchase the TIW or not. I need to buy a ten day ticket anyways for my mother (we alrady have our tickets) and was thinking of buying an anuual pass instead. I wont use the annual pass but for one trip and we are staying offsite. Although we most likley wont eat much offsite. I remember from years past the place is so large that leaving to go offsitewasa chore. We just wanted the room. We do not eat three big meals a day but maybe would eat a CS and one sit down and possibly one dinner show in the ten days. Would we save enough to warrant the purchase of the annual pass and the TIW. I have put the pen to paper and its hard to predict what each of us 5 will eat at each meal. Parking will be free we are stayng for 10 nights.

If you spend $375 on meals and drinks at locations that accept the TiW card, you will break even (at the $75 price for an AP holder). The rest -- as you said -- you need to figure out whether you will spend that much or more.

Keep in mind that the TiW discount to a dinner show like Hoop De Do only applies to the last (9:30pm) seating. You won't be able to save there unless you're willing to eat late.

I am sure you know this, but there are very few CS sites that accept the TiW. It is primarily used at TS meals.
It was worth it for us in October. We were 6 adults and ate at a TS every day

thanks for all the replies. We will eat at least one sit down each day. But only with 5 of us. So I'm still so undecided.

If your mother is the annual passholder, the TIW card will be in her name and cannot be used by anyone but her - so if you plan to use it without her, keep in mind that you might be asked to show ID.

Also, only nine CS restaurants in all of WDW accept TIW, and only three of those are in a theme park (Animal Kingdom).

It's not worth it, if you have no intention of using the AP again and are not getting any other perks (like on site room discount) you will be wasting your money. A 10 day with park hopper ticket will only run you $295, an AP is $489. Add in you will have to spend $75 to get the card then you need to save at least $269 in food; thats about $1425 in food for your trip before you start saving any real money. $1425 at TS places and the very limited CS locations. Plus your TIW automatically gets 18% gratiuity added, so if you don't tip that much normally you are saving even less.

My thoughts exactly. To me it's only worth it if you are going to use your AP and TIW multiple times. I think you are going to have to spend a lot to make up not only the cost of the TIW but the cost of upgrading to an AP. Using PIRATEGIRL007's numbers, you are going to have about $270 in the TIW. I just don't think you will break even, much less save.
