We have gone to WDW many times and done cash meals and DDP. We are thinking of doing cash meals this trip, again...

We will be at VWL in a one bedroom villa for 8 nights/9days. Our schedule is as follows:
1st night - Tony's Town Square
2nd night - 'Ohana
3rd night - 50's Prime Time Cafe
4th breakfast - Tusker House
5th lunch - Biergarten (Germany)
6th night - Liberty Tree Tavern
7th night - Chef Mickey

When doing the DDP we always have lots of snack credits left at the end of our trip (we bring them home). I know we will do some CS meals in the parks, but is it worth DDP.

And, is TIW worth the cost?? It saves 20%, and the gratuity is 18%...so basically it saves you money if you are going to leave more than $75.00 in tips during your stay...right??

Just wanting some opinions...

If you have an AP it is definitely worth it.

Without going into detail, you actually save $21.30 per $100 of menu price provided that you normally do an 18% gratuity at any table service. With the number of buffets you have listed it is definitely worth it.

And if you have any alcoholic beverages with your meals they are also covered with TiW.

We've done DDP and TiW and TiW beat the dining plan when I placed them sided-by-side for our dining style. Plus, our TiW card is good for up to 13 months (it is good through the end of the next month the following year from purchase. For example, if purchased today, it would be good through March 30, 2013. Does that make sense?) We will be getting 18 days of TiW dining discounts this year alone. Definitely worth it! :)

Don't forget, you can use TIW at some CS restaurants where there is no tipping involved.

Enjoy.

:)

We love TIW because we try to go more than once the year we get the AP's and TIW card and usually at least break even our first trip, sometimes save even on that one.

Another one for TIW. My wife and I just got back from a trip a few weeks ago. This was our first time with TIW instead of DDP like we normally have. We loved it as we normally share meals and will get appitizers instead of dessert. For our 7 day trip, our bills came a little over $350. If we would of done DDP, it would of been around $710. So yea,,, TIW is a huge win for us!
