Where can I buy the TiW card and how long is it valid for?

I am planning on buying one for our April trip.

Thanks,

The TIW card may be purchased at any Guest Services desk - located in each Theme Park and also at DD. You will need your DVC id (or an AP) to purchase the card. They are valid for 13 months from issue.

It's actually good for 12 months but doesn't expire to the end of the month. It's $100 for DVC and AP and $125 for FL residents who don't otherwise qualify. It's $50 for a second card for a spouse or partner at the same address.

Dean,
I think it is 13 months,we we're there last week and bought ours . It expires 2/28/2014.

This is why I love the Dis.

So many quick responses!!

Thank you all so much! ...now back to planning. :)

From their website
Tables in Wonderland is valid for one year from date of purchase.
They tend to post date them and batch the card runs I believe so in effect they are frequently good for 13 months but technically it's 12 months.

I don't think it's an uncommon occurrence, I was just pointing out the technical vs practical difference in case someone expected something more than was guaranteed. I think you're experience is common. However, had you gotten it a few days earlier it would likely have expired the end of Jan instead of Feb.

On the other thread, there's a report of someone getting EXACTLY 12 months, with the expiration not going to the end of the month at all.

I guess the consistancy is the inconsistancy
Either that or it's a new policy for 2013. So far this is the only report I've seen of someone getting an expiration date exactly 12 months out. I'll be disappointed if it's a new policy. For us the TIW at $75 (for AP holders) with the longer expiration date worked out because we used it for 3 trips. Now that it's $100 and possibly good for exactly 12 months, it probably won't work for us anymore.

I didn't see that post though it doesn't surprise me.

Our last purchase of the TIW was on June 7, 2012 at WDW. It is good until July 31, 2013.

I'm thinking the same thing. We got the 13 months for $75 in Nov 11, it just expired. I'm still on the fence about spending $100 since we now have to spend over $500 to see any savings.

Victoria & Alberts is one of the restaurants on the list, so eating there will bring the TiW owner closer to that $500 MUCH faster. I LOVE eating there, so basically I'd be saving on the tip money.... that's do-able!:thumbsup2

I don't follow you since the standard etiquette is to tip on the pre-discounted price.

The gratuity is automatically added on TIW dining and that is based on the pre-discounted cost of the meal including alcohol. The poster is just stating that with the expense of a V&A meal they are already closer to reaching the break-even point of purchasing the TIW card. The break even is after $500 in dining costs (20% discount = the $100 cost). Many people choose to think of it as covering the gratuity they might have provided on the meal they would have enjoyed with or without the TIW card.
