We are AP holders considering doing TIW.

We eat at TS occaissonally and will definitely use the card for the value resort food courts and for cs at AK. We typically don't do signature dining. We'll probably order appetizers but also like to order dessert often for at least 1 meal of the day. We aren't big drinkers during meals, but rather like to get a cocktail at a bar before/after eating.

I've read through the threads about using TIW and it seems to be a good deal for families, but what about for couples?

If you are going to order more than $375 worth of food and beverages on TIW, then anything you save after that is free and clear savings. If you won't use it at least that much, you won't save anything.

I am one person and due to the frequency of my travels to WDW it is worth it. One dinner for two at V&A with wine pairings will nearly earn back the value of the membership.

We are a couple and purchase a TIW card each year. We do visit WDW several times a year and spend more than $375 during that time frame so it has always been cost effective for us. My DH does usually have a drink with dinner. I think you really need to decide how much you would typically spend during the membership period to know if this is a good deal for you or not.

This is my situation also. It is a pure dollars and cents calculation: will you spend more than $375 on food? If so, TIW is worth it.

DH and I don't travel to WDW without the TIW card. We are not fond of CS food, so we do at least one (sometimes two) table service meals per day. Also DH most often enjoys an adult beverage with dinner. I like an appetizer and sometimes have that as my meal. So the TIW card works great for us especially compared to the existing dining plans.

We always get a TIW card. As others have stated, as long as you spend at least $375, it has paid for itself. We arrive on Sunday, and as a party of 6, we will have covered the cost by the 3rd table service meal :lmao:

We are also a couple and have found TiW to be very worthwhile. We eat our dinners at TS restaurants and we like to enjoy a cocktail before dinner. We prefer appetizers to desserts so this works much better for us than the meal plan. Thanks to the savings we have been able to experience all of the signature restaurants. When we get back home it's hard not to go out to dinner and start mentally taking 20% off of the menu prices. Our plan is to always get an AP so that we can get TiW.

I had the TIW card for several years, and I always spent more than enough to break even. However, I usually go to WDW solo, so the times I used the TIW discount was when friends joined me for a sit-down meal or at AK CS. My friends saved 20% on their meals because I paid $75 for the card. If only I had been eating, I don't think I would have broken even.

Instead of getting another TIW card and subsidizing my friends' meals, I am going to take advantage of the 10% AP discount on certain restaurants when possible. I will also use the $25 Restaurant.com certificates I bought for $2 and $3 each for several Swan/Dolphin restaurants and House of Blues at DD.

I go solo and I find the TIW card worth it. Not only can you use it at TS and most bars for drinks at WDW but it is also good for discounts at the Pop & AS food courts, 10% I think. I stay at value's when I 'm not using DVC points and it's nice to have that little extra discounts at the food courts.

Thanks for these comments. I guess I need to figure out how much we would spend on (mostly non CS) food at wdw.

The one thing that's hanging me up is that I would start obsessing over the cost of things - which I don't currently do on the ddp.

Also I guess a problem is that we do CS fairly often. I wish just one CS in each park took the card.

Thanks again for the help everyone!

It's 20 percent wherever you use it.
