Recently(6/22) we dined at Citricos and used our TIW. When we handed our waiter the card he said "Arent' these wonderful? It's great that you can save off of Alcohol as well". He went on to say that the CM's get 20% off food but not Alcoholic beverages and that some CM's will purchase TIW card just to get the discount on drinks. He then said that he had heard that they may do away with TIW cards but that he had not been able to confirm this. Has anyone else heard this?

It looks like they may be changing some of the terms:

*Victoria& Albert’s will honor Tables in Wonderland discount through July 31st, 2014. As of August 1st, 2014 the restaurant will no longer participate in Tables in Wonderland.

*Beginning August 1st 2014, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey’s, ‘Ohana (Dinner Only), Cinderella’s Royal Table, LeChefs de France, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, and Le Cellier Steakhouse will be subject to the additional blockout weeks of: November 23-29, 2014; December 21-27, 2014; March 8-April 4, 2015; May 31-June 20, 2015.

Blockout dates for Tables in Wonderland are Mother’s Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Tables in Wonderland is valid for one year from date of purchase.

David G has posted the latest info about TiW. Anything else is just speculation, perhaps poorly informed speculation. At any rate, the currently selling TiW cards are still good for 13+ months so they won't be going away for a while.

I am hoping this as well. I really love my TIW card, we save a lot of money with it!

Looks like they are in "tweak" mode..

A couple of observations...

I love V&A...but we felt the price outpaced the meal a long time ago and haven't been in awhile

The other blackout locations seem to have two characteristics in common:
1. Unreasonable demand
2. Bad food

I'm being serious..all those meals and times are far overrated/overpriced...
No big losses. Except maybe chefs...but I prefer lunch there as well.

I think long term...in addition to "more tweaks"...they would rather just increase the prices on a plan as opposed to eliminating something that generates lots of money and harms no one...

I know I'll have a big smile when I get one next week...unlike with an annual pass

But then again...if rumors are true and they are gonna assault Florida residents...for their "freeloading"...then TIW could be in play.

I've said before that disrespect to the Florida residents is ridiculous, short sighted, and embarassing if you wear a nametag...

But whatever....apparently the board of directors thinks this ridiculous stock market won't crash...silly, greedy suits

If this is true, maybe it should buy one now instead of waiting until I arrive in nov.

The chances of this being true at this time at <0.001%

Isn't that what they said about . . .
. . . the 1929 Stock Market Crash?
. . . the landing of a man on the moon?
. . . the illustration of iPads in "2001 Space Odyssey"?
. . . the wife believing me that her jeans don't make her butt look fat
. . . the success of a weather-only channel?
. . . the popularity of "Reality" TV shows

Perhaps...

I just see them tinkering with the price for at least a few years first...

However, the dining plan is becoming such a ripoff that anything is possible.

I think your wife's butt looks just fine.

I would disagree about the list of restarantes that wil lhave extra block out dates.

Some of our favorites are in thier. Yes they are over priced but we deem them worth it once and awhile. We don't always book trips far enough out to get a good ADR so don't go that often.

If all these things were predicted to not happen, but did happen, then doesn't that tip the proverbial law of averages scale greatly in the favor of this one not being true?

hmmm...

I misread it a little...I saw "dinner only" and thought it was all...

But other than chefs...I'm gonna have to stand pat

Le cellier is the most overrated place in the zipcode...no question
A "decent" steak is raved about and is horribly over priced with a pretty bad atmosphere
chef mickeys food is pretty bad...cinderellas and akershus is awful.
Ohana dinner used to be good...but isn't the cats meow any longer.
Park fare isn't bad...but again not a horrible loss.

These are basically character spots and "reputation exceeds the food" more or less...and the loss of tables in wonderland wouldn't deter
me if I really wanted to go.

Also...it's during "peak times"...where I would typically pass altogether.

Might as well throw Florida residents into the mix. They've been screwing the Disneyland Southern California annual passholders over for the last several years.

Very different animal though...

Disneyland's base are regional travelers - including socals - who frequent it as a "non-destination" resort.

The big O is about large expenditure destination trips...
When times are good - like now - they get ballsy about the Florida residents who prefer not to pay the kings ransom and prefer to "leave it" when crowd levels are high...

Then a little semi-worldwide financial meltdown occurs... And The destination trips at high cost *cough cough* are the very FIRST things eliminated from the budget...particularly in the US, but also worldwide.

Eliminating a pricey week that costs alot to even get to hurts nobody...which is why it's the first thing to be thrown overboard when the reef is struck.

Then they gravel to their friends from Florida and Georgia...because there is a huge operational juggernaut that begins to collapse under its own weight if even there is a 10% slowdown...

Careful...I would advise the bankers held up in the dwarf buildings...
Not only is Florida as a whole slowing down...but perhaps the willingness of those to return and prop you up when called may as well...after cutthroat pricing policies and slashing of incentives...

Hope this rumor isn't true, we just joined DVC and we're looking forward to trying it out.
