I know valet parking is free for TIW card holders who are dining at the resort. However, should I assume that if you have reservations at a World Showcase restaurant, you can not valet park for free at Boardwalk or Beach Club?

Yes, that is correct. It is for resort valet parking when dining at the resort.

Thanks. One more question. If we go to ESPN club and have a drink/apps, is that considered dining at the resort since apparently TIW is accepted there?

It would be considered dining at the Boardwalk (just like if you want to Flying Fish or Kouzzina), so valet parking at BWI should work for that. I didn't know ESPN club took TiW.

Just FYI. I use the free valet parking with my TiW card and the valet service WILL ask for that dining receipt. I've use the service several times recently and have been asked for the receipt every time, so have it with you and ready when you pick up your car.

Did you merely eat and then leave, or did you head to a park after eating?? Just curious as to what valet would do if they saw a time of, lets say, 1:45pm for ESPN dinner but you returned to get your car at 10pm.
But thanks for that info about valet needing a receipt. Good to know.

We just ate and left. We always use the valet for the GF since their self service parking lot is the pits. We eat, linger inside and outside, and then leave. Not sure how that would work out, but a couple of things I've noticed recently (March and January 2010 trips). This new group of valet folks are not very friendly and less friendly when they find out it's free to us; you HAVE to tell them you are using your TiW perk--they give you a special pass (they got snippy with us recently); if you're a resort guest, ALWAYS take your parking pass out of the window after the guards gate because even if you tell them you are TiW, they will still scan your room parking pass and the charge will show up on your bill; if you don't follow this last advice, please check your bill prior to checking out or you'll find yourself at the desk the morning of your check out trying to get this charge taken off your bill. (that was a lessen learned!) Also, they don't care who is paying the bill, it just better be a receipt. We actually used the TiW card while eating at the GF Cafe using dining credits. We actually didn't even use our TiW discount during the recent visit, but we had both the TiW card and a dining receipt.

OTOH, I've never been asked for my receipt when using TIW for valet (which I've done about 8-10 times, including 2 weeks ago, since free valet for DVC members was eliminated).

Yes, ours was only 3 weeks ago, but at the GF. (And many times prior to that trip). That is the only place we valet park. We normally stay at the BWV or BCV, so parking there for us is never a problem.

The only valet parking we did at GF 2 weeks ago was for V&A, which includes valet parking anyway, so no need to show TIW there.

On the off chance you are a FL resident (not an AP holder), you can also arrive in the evening for dinner and park for free:

Theme Park: after 5 p.m. daily, show membership card at Guest Relations. You'll have to pay parking at the toll booth, then after dining, present receipt and parking ticket at Guest Relations for a refund.

A little bit of a hassle, but doable.

As for the receipt; I've never been asked for one, but I always keep it, just in case. You never know when "the memo" gets sent around to the valet stands reminding them that they are supposed to check.
