Tivo thinks we're old!

We just got DVR this week and it already thinks we are old with the shows it has suggested for us!

Well now that I look at this list, I think Tivo thinks we are old & we might be murderers! Has Tivo suggested anything strange for you?

LOL. That reminds me of that episode of King of Queens where Doug's friend (Spense?) gets Tivo and he believes it thinks he's gay because of the shows it suggests. LOL.

LOL! I love that show. I forgot all about that episode until you mentioned it. I wonder about Spense and the guy that's living with him (Doug's cousin maybe), they act a little funny together sometimes.

Seriously? That same exact thing happened on an old show on HBO called "The Mind of the Married Man". It was a whole show... "Tivo thinks I'm gay".

OP, when we had it, our tivo thought we were geeks. All it taped was sci-fi shows. Granted my husband watched them, but it never taped anything for me.

Speaking of Tivo, is anyone having problems with theirs? I keep getting this blue screen that pops up. It use to only pop up when I would change the channel but now it comes up when we're watching a show. It's very annoying. There is some white lettering on it but it pops up and goes away so quick that I can't see what it says. It was so bad this morning that DH went into another room to watch t.v.

We shut the suggestions off so we would not get our feeling hurt . Also I think with our 'diverse' taste the TIVO would self destruct? How do you match something for people that have Gilmore Girls and Nip Tuck being recorded on the same night...what would it come up with Gilmore Girls Gone Wild?

Too funny. I guess King of Queens ripped them off. Very funny episode though. He kept recording "manly" things to try to "change it's mind".

Our tivo piks the weirdest shows too. I've been worrying about bird flu and it actually recorded a show about the Plague.

Go to 'suggestions' and you'll be able to see what Tivo suggests for you based on types of shows you watch/record.

The very first suggestion on both my TiVo boxes was Judge Judy I quickly gave it a 3 thumbs down.

Mine also thinks I am 3 years old and I don't even have kids. I once recorded a bunch of kids shows for a co-worker and put them on DVD so that his child could watch them on a long road trip.


For those wondering where the suggestions are, I think they are in the programs to record section. just click Tivo suggestions. And in your options, there is a setting to have them all automatically record.

Netflix makes suggestions too but somehow they're not as funny as TIVO's.
