Titus might being coming back...(UPDATE)

but for a sad reason. His grandfather has suffered a stoke and is in a coma right now. A request has been put in to the red cross for Titus to come back to the states to be with his grandfather/family. Titus is close to his grandparents so I'm sure this is hard on him as well as the rest of the family.

UPDATE: Titus emailed today and said that he doesn't think they are going to let him come home to see his grandfather. He hasn't heard the final word yet but he believes the answer will be no. Ashli called his mom for an update on his grandfather's condition and he's doing a little better. He's condition is still grave but there has been an improvement in the last couple days.

I'm so sorry to hear this, but I am interested to find out if he's brought home.

We were told at one of our early family support meetings that our Marine would be brought home in the event of a serious injury or death of a spouse, child, parent or sibling and they reiterated to us that a grandparent did not fall under this catagory. They also told us that if we were in a combat situation - nothing would bring them home.

My DH says the same thing, Grandparents do not usually count in this situation . Perhaps since the combat is about to be deemed over, they will allow it, but it is not usual. They could not even get DH to me for DS birth .
DH(reservist) did allow one of his active duty soldiers to go see a dying Grandfather in Jan. But he was not deployed, just training those deploying.
I am sorry to hear about his Grandfather and will keep them in my prayers.
