Have any of you visited Titanic? If so, how was it? How long did it take to visit?

We just went a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it! My son (8) learned about the Titanic last year in school and has been extremely interested in it ever since so we had planned on visiting the Exhibit while in Orlando on our "free" day.

It's a guided tour but you're not obligated to stay with the group. We did, however, and I would recommend it since they give you a lot of background information about what you're seeing. The tour takes about an hour but you're welcome to back-track to go over anything you wanted to spend more time looking at. We were in there for about an 1 1/2 hrs. Even my husband (tough guy that he is) was really moved by the tour and got a bit emotional. I was afraid my daughter (6) would get bored but she liked looking at everything too.

Also, if you have an Entertainment book there is a buy 1 get one free coupon that saved us about $30 on admission.

If you have any other questions, I'll try to help!

Thanks Nicole. I also have a buy1/get1 coupon which I found on ibidUSA. DD5 is free so all three of us should be able to go for only $17. Last year I wanted to visit but we never made it. This year we're staying on I-Drive for part of our trip, so I thought this would be something to see.

You never know with the smaller attractions if they are worth the money or not.

I would definitely say it is worth the $, especially if you can go for about $17! If you are at all interested in the Titanic, you will enjoy the Exhibit.

I will say that the Plaza it is in, called the Mercado, could use some sprucing up. It seemed like they had grand plans for it, but they never really came through. There are a few small shops to go through and a food court but other than that, nothing I would spend any time on. We only browsed everything since we had about an hour to kill before our tour began (we had just missed the last one).

Do the tours start on the half-hour? I think I read somewhere they open at 10:00 but the first tour isn't until 10:30. Is that correct?

This is a 'must see' for me on this trip. Hope I can squeeze it in!

I'm really not sure. We got there around 12:10 or so and they said the next tour would be at 1:00 so I had assumed we had just missed the 12:00 tour. It might matter what time of the year you go if it's a busy season they might do tours every 1/2 hour. It was a rainy day when we were there and there were about 30 of us doing the tour and the tour guides seemed really surprised by the amount of people in the group.

Hope that helps some and I hope you get to see the Exhibit. I thought it was really interesting!

Hi we are going to it also!!!!! We also are going to the hard rock vault all courtsey of i bidusa vouchers! They really do save money dont they!!!!! Hope to see yall down there.:hyper: :hyper:

Hi Don. They sure do save you money! I'm doing some of my Christmas shopping through them. Some of my family members will be eating at Adobe Gila's in Columbus. $30 vouchers for food and drink...some I've payed $9 for and some only $4 (because of the bid bucks). I'm hooked!

Now I'm wondering if I should ask my mom to log on every day I'm on vacation (10 days..$3.30) so I don't miss my 'free' money...is that a sign of addiction?

We'll be the family wearing the lime green Mickey head lanyards with my name (Kevenswife2) on them...I got creative. And I ALMOST have DH talked into wearing one. He's not sure he wants people knowing who he is  .

Have you ever visited Titanic before? Sounds very interesting.

Hi !!! No we have never been to either one! It will be a first for the 3 of us! Well you know what i look like ,My wife is mum4jenn on the dis so you can see what she looks like,If you see us dont be shy to yell!We love our fellow dissers!

We went in 2002. It was wonderful. Even DH enjoyed it and he was pretty ambivalent about going. I cried throughout. So be warned if your an emotional person

Keep your entrance tickets. They put a name of a person on the Titanic on each ticket. You can check the wall at the end to see if you were a survivor. Strangely enough, DH and DD survived but I died. That upset me even

Uh oh, guess I better bring some tissues along...possibly for DH too.
