I have 3 packages "lost" somewhere in transit - UPS says they handed the packages off to the USPS on Thursday, USPS says they don't have any record of them. :furious: Last time this happened, the package never was found and it took me 3 weeks to battle with the retailer for a refund. (Packages are all gift cards from Target, Target made me place 3 orders because their system wouldn't allow more than 4 gift cards per order.)

Anyone else fighting shipping nightmares???

I ordered 2 calendars from Shutterfly on Nov. 28. I kept trying to track them but kept getting a message that no info was available and it might take 24-48 hours for info to become available. Way more than 2-4 days had passed. I was a little nervous but my husband said I got one package from shutterfly today. Hopefully the second one comes by Saturday, as it is a gift for my niece who will only be in town this week.

I think the delivery folks are swamped. Hopefully your items arrive soon!

My sister had the exact same problem with the iPad Air she ordered from Target for her DD. $400 iPad and Target can't ship it all the way with UPS or FedEx. She called Target they were of no help and did not seem like they even cared. UPS terminal is in the next town to us. they handed it off their local PO who then sent it to our town PO.

Sis said between this and last years credit card disaster it's really turned her off to Target.

iPad was finally delivered so ended OK.

Sad part is, based on previous experience, I believe the post office more than UPS :rotfl2:

I also find it HIGHLY suspicious that the UPS tracking information shows the handoff at 5:00pm on Thursday - normally the handoffs happen in the morning, and a handoff at exactly 5:00 - the post office branch's closing time - just makes me think something's up and the UPS driver was playing games of some sort...

Has anyone else received any emails stating port unloadings on the west cast are all backed up as the reason for a shipping date being pushed out into next year? I recall something like this some years back, but hadn't heard it was occurring again. So am wondering if the vendor is being truthful as to the reason for the delivery delay.

I ordered something through Amazon. Tracking shows it was delivered, but it's nowhere to be found. I just went into my amazon account and requested a refund with one click of a button. A refund back to my credit card was issued pretty fast. Wish I had my package, but Im impressed with how amazon can issue a refund just like that.

I have had 1 item back ordered, 1ship to store not arrive from estimated 12/2, a couple of no arrivals yet showing handoff to PO & not arrived. Added into my mis-orders, I am just not feeling good about online ordering.

Hope your stuff shows up, OP!

Love Amazon! I had that happen to me last year and they just asked - refund or replacement? Since it was not going to get here before Christmas I said refund and got an instant credit to my account.
Even on regular returns they are super fast. As soon as the item is scanned by UPS they issue the refund.

I'm frustrated with shipping this year for the first time...however, I do understand that weather & volume of sales can cause issues so I'm trying to be patient. :thumbsup2

Several of my packages shipped but the delivery date keeps getting pushed back. FedEx has been the worst for me. I saw this morning that one of my UPS packages will be delivered late because the truck didn't depart on time (first time I'd ever seen an alert message like that).

My biggest frustration is the cost to ship a package this year: 3 Crayola Color Wonder coloring pages, 1 Crayola Color Wonder mini markers, and a Disney Classic Stories book...$14 to ship at regular speed, regardless of USPS, FedEx, or UPS. It is cheaper for me to pay $12 to ship PRIORITY MAIL Flat Rate Box. Unbelievable. I will not be shipping any more packages myself ever. $14 for coloring pages and one book? Come on.

Things are flowing more slowly through some West Coast ports than normal. Reasons for it are disputed - labor slowdown because of contract negotiation issues, lack of equipment, etc. - but it is flowing slower.

But most Christmas stock should be through the ports by now. Anyone who's using it as an excuse was cutting it close on their stock delivery dates to begin with.

I ordered two Google Play gift cards from Best Buy on Black Friday.

The shipping address got mangled to my correct zip code but some random other city and street that is nothing like my address or city. The street listed on their shipping label doesn't even exist in the city that is listed. My big mistake was not checking the confirmation email when I got it but I didn't notice until I started wondering where my package was.

Best Buy swears I must have typed in my delivery address "wrong" when I made the order but this would be a recreation of the extent of that mistake if it was on my end.

Deliver to:

Jane Doe
146 Clark Avenue
Somewhere, OH 12317

Actual Delivery label printed out:
Jane Doe
146 Primrose Lane
Anchorage, AK 12317

I mean, I make mistakes and I'm goofy but I'm not THAT goofy. I don't accidentally type things like Anchorage when I mean Somewhere.

UPS and the USPS keep passing the package back and forth because neither one of them can figure out where it should go. Should we look at the city? Should we look at the Zip Code but this street … it isn't REAL!!!!

Best Buy COULD contact UPS and intercept the package and put a correct address on it. I was told they would, but so far my poor little package is just a lost soul at a UPS center racking up "Delivery Exception Notices" day after day.

I ordered something from the CHEFS catalog (for my mother) and the lovely baking dishes were lovely glass shards when I opened the package.

They wanted me to send it back, but I told them I didn't feel comfortable sending broken glass through the mail and I would happily put it in my mixed recycling.

They said OK and credited my CC. That was my only shipping issue this year!

Good luck everyone!

I placed an order for about 5 items from Kohls on Black Friday and I ended up getting two of everything. The Fed Ex man came in the morning and brought my packages and then a different FedEx man came with the same exact packages in the afternoon. Thankfully they only billed me once. :thumbsup2 But now I must return the duplicates.

We had one package go missing this year. DD2 sent DS and her friend a present to our house (from Amazon) and it was lost somewhere between UPS and USPS. Still lists as waiting for it to be delivered. Amazon gave her a refund on her credit card, with no problems.

I ordered from four stores online on Black Friday...

Disney Store- two missing shirts and one the wrong size. They could not replace the wrong size shirt or one of missing shirts. They are sending the one missing shirt still in stock. I was told to donate the wrong sized shirt.

JC Penney-Received all of my items, but my box included a huge bag of pink colored gloves. I was told to donate them.

Amazon-ordered an item that came as a set. I only received one item. Amazon told me to return the item and they would send me the set. Second box only had one item. Luckily I hadn't sent the first box back and spent a hour with customer service because they wanted to charge me for two full sets.

QVC-took forever, but all items accounted for!

Makes me almost want to return to B and M shopping!

Think Geek sent me an extra t-shirt (I ordered one, and they sent two).

When I called to them about it, I was told I needed to ship the shirt back. No problem, I said.
I asked if they could send me a shipping label, and the guy said no, that I needed to pay for the shipping. I asked if they would discount the shipping cost off the order I had just placed, and he said no. :confused3 The guy wanted me to pay to send a shirt back that I didn't order.

Um, no.

I called back later and spoke to another person, and she told me just to keep the shirt. So now DH, DS and myself all have the same shirt.

After a week of being on backorder, I finally cancelled my drugstore.com pillow pet order. They are for my son's girl friends for Christmas, and even if they decided to ship, by the time they actually get here, it could be too late to give them.

Kind of bummed out, as it was a great deal. But we found other gifts that will work that are now in hand, so it all worked out.

This happened to us today...an amazon order that was handed off to USPS from UPS. My doorbell rings today, it's a neighbor from around the corner. She introduced herself and apologized for opening our package that was delivered to her yesterday. Her name is Alexis and my husband's name is Alexander and she didn't look closely at the package and thought it was addressed to her. She realized her mistake once she opened the box and was nice enough to bring it here - I've never met her before. I'm happy to have honest neighbors otherwise I never would have known what happened to the package.
I just sent USPS a complaint but I don't really expect to hear back from them. This is my second complaint in two months, I never got a response the first time - though funny enough, I got a follow-up survey from them asking if my issue was resolved to my satisfaction!

I ordered a food processor from Kohls during their Black Friday sale. Got it with no issues. I came home on Friday and had another one sitting on my doorstep. Called customer service (which of course is in India) and told them what happened. They assured me I had only been charged once and that they would send UPS to pick up the extra one. No word from UPS. You would think that Kohls really would want the extra $200 food processor back.
