Have a special occasion next Friday and want to be looking as thin and trim as possible. I've planned out meals for a week that are approx 1200 calories a day and around 700 mg of sodium. Additionally I'm making a drink recommended by Jillian Michaels: one gallon distilled water, four dandelion tea bags, four tablespoons cranberry juice, four tablespoons lemon juice, every day. I also plan to get a full eight hour sleep every night and one hour of high intense cardio every morning.

Should this be enough? I just want to be as thin and trim as possible.

When my late DH was retaining water, they told him to drink more water! It sounded strange to me, but it did help..

Can't be much help other than that, but I hope you're able to reach your goal and have a great time! :goodvibes

Thank you...I have heard that as well so I think drinking the gallon of distilled water a day will help.

Personally, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable drinking that much distilled water. :confused3

Pineapple is a natural diuretic, also asparagus. Add those into your caloric count each day.:)

Yes, drinking more water does the trick. It keeps the balance, so to speak. When you don't have enough, your body thinks "oh no!" and hangs on to it instead (I'm sure there is a much better medical explanation that that :) )

I've been told that you should drink 1/2 of your weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 120lbs, you should drink 60oz of water per day.

My friend always cuts back all white carbs when she needs to lose water. I'm not sure how healthy it is to yoyo like that, but if you are only doing it this one week for the special occassion I think it should be fine, as long as you keep the overall calories, protein, veggies, etc up.

Lemon water is good too.

It will work short term. Lol, I've found nearly any change does. I'd add the green tea just for grins and cut the white carbs... You'll be svelte!

DOn't forget to avoid bubbly drinks (beer, sodas, etc.), and gassy foods (beans, cabbage, I'm sure there are lists online), and be careful with your dairy intake as well.

:scared1: Where am I supposed to find a lake every day?

this is very true, because you can drink TOO much water! I have done this, I was "drowning" myself. So if you want to lose water weight short of taking meds, I would go the natural way of another drink other then what water you normally drink.

That makes no sense. Liquid is liquid. And is all comes down to water in the end.

der. nevermind. Didn't get the joke, need more coffee. Now if THAT counted as water, I'd be good to go :)

Oh yeah, caffeine is a diruetic too. If you are not used to alot, that might push some water out of you.

lol, it does count for water, if that makes you feel better. While it is a diuretic, it doesn't use more than it gives, contrary to diet myth!

The four day anti-bloat jumpstart by Flat Belly Diet, you drink a drink much like Jillian's and combine it with their diet program. It is designed to get rid of the bloating before you start the actual diet and if you follow it, it does work. I assume the program you are doing would have the same results if you follow it.
According to the book here are things to avoid while trying to lose the bloat:
salt, salt seasonngs and highly processed foods
excess carbs
bulky raw foods
gassy foods
gum
sugar alcohols
fried foods
spicy foods
carbonated drinks
alcohol, coffee, tea, hot cocoa and acidic fruit juices

Thanks for all the tips...I started today and it's going well so far...I will give you an update.
