As a result of my car accident I had last week, I woke up yesterday morning with two black eyes. It looks like I was in some horrific fight. The doctor says that these were caused by the trauma from my head injury...yuck! My engagement photos are next weekend, and just plain old undereye makeup isn't helping. The doc thinks I could have these up two 3 weeks! Accck! Any advice?!

I think I would go to a makeup counter and see what line has the best coverage for concealor....actually apply some.

Did you ask your doctor? maybe there is something he can give you.

Don't suppose you could reschedule your engagement photos? Probably not, but if you can, that might be an option.

I'm with Rajah, just reschedule.

See if your local department store carries Dermablend.

Do you have a Merle Norman store nearby? They have a new concealer in a compact that is fabulous and it builds upon itself, so with enough it should cover nearly everything. Get them to test it on you to make sure it works though. If your photographer does digital you could also ask them for a little photoshop help.

If you cannot reschedule perhaps a local day spa or beauty salon has makeup application? Its worth a phone call.

It must be tough and stressful to have this so close to your wedding. I'm glad to hear the Dear Fiance had nothing to do with it! :rotfl:

I would try to reschedule the pictures, you would probably feel much more secure that they will turn out better.

Benefit makes some amazing undereye cover up. AMAZING!

Macys, Sephora sells it. Go there, have them try some stuff out, and see what works

Reschedule the engagement photos. I'm assuming you don't need these by a specific date, right? I had black eyes after I wrecked my car many years ago. There was nothing that could have hidden it. It actually showed up in photos after it stopped being apparent in real life.

If you need a portrait by a certain date, I think you'll have to have it touched up.

If you can't reschedule then get your makeup professionally done. A good makep artist can work miracles!

Sorry to hear about your car accident :(

Ice packs to the eyes several times a day will help get rid of them faster. DON'T use the chemical ones that you can refreeze on your eyes. Get a couple small bags of frozen peas and use those as ice packs. They will work the best. Lay down on the couch and put the ice packs on your eyes for about 10-20 minutes every hour if possible. The more often you ice, the faster the bruises will go away.

Sorry about your accident! If you can't reschedule, you might try a cosmetic line called Physician's Formula...I got this at CVS. I know this sounds weird, but you would use a yellow cover-up stick on your eyes to neutralize the bruising, then put your regular make-up on top of it. I used their green stick to hide a sunburn on my neck and shoulders (strapless dress) for my SIL's wedding and it did a pretty good job. You would never know I was red from the photos.

Good luck!
