Tips to avoid that "I HATE PEOPLE" feeling in wdw?

You know how it is..... PEOPLE EVERYWHERE! Pushing - Shoving - slappin' their flip flops around, their sweaty selves bumping into you-
hoards of crowds, strollers, not caring who's around them -

so i pose this question to you - what do you do to combat that feeling of annoyance??

I try to pay more attention to the good people, the happy families, the polite people who are part of the Magic themselves. Sometimes it's really hard to do, but it's worth it.

I just ignore it and smile. Most people find it hard to be ignorant to someone who's smiling at them. Focus on what you and your family are doing and pretend the other people don't exist, unless you're noticing how cute someone's child is or how much fun someone else is having. Above all, laugh and be glad that you're not part of any miserable family, couple, or group you come into contact with during the day.

Just look around and SMILE at the fact that you are at DISNEY!!! Dont let anyone else rain on your parade.

I also try to be overly kind to those who are being annoying. Kill them with kindness! It works!!

I don't let someone elses miserable disposition effect me - I love WDW crowds or no crowds - it lets me escape from the real world for a short time. So those who try to kill my perfect FANTASY of a safe happy joyous world were no bad happens - I IGNORE THEM

Unless I have been run over by a stroller or bumped in front of a moving Main Street Vehicle in MK I try to ignore them...I remind myself that not everyone was raised how I was, and there are many people from several differnt countries at WDW at all times and their customs in crowds may be differnt....Why waste your vacation concerned over how others are acting, you will always run into pushy or rude people whatever you do and WDW is no exception to the rule....

Kill them with kindness! Seriously, I just ignore it and move on. Nothing can get me down when I'm in WDW!! Or sometimes I find that if I am really nice to someone who is being rude, it can really change their attitude too!

I love it!! Exactly what I do... makes some rude obnoxious people take a step back. "Why is that person being so nice to me when I'm being such an a$$.... oh."

I have been in DW during quiet time in May and nuts time at Easter in April. I got hit by so many strollers last year at Easter time. The funny thing is most of them were mad at me because I had to stop because the crowd stopped ahead of me. Kind of like a rearend accident. I just stop and look at the sites and remember where I am. There is tons of rudeness but also tons of nice people so try to remember the nice people.

Pretend I'm the only one there

Enjoy actually waiting in line--at least in line we all have a common purpose and we are all (usually) going in the same direction.

Try to remember the "shortcuts"....

the path from the castle to tomorrowland (actually I never remember this one)...

Using the train to beeline from frontierland to mickey's starland (is this what it is called, now?) or all the way to main street.

Remember that I live in Florida and can come anytime (okay--we relish this one, especially with annual passes when we can afford them). If it gets to hectic--we can just go home and come back another day.

Enjoy the park after hours--explore the shops--take my time and remember--I still have another hour before they kick me out--no sense in packing like sardines in a hot and sweaty line to get to the most least popular attraction--the parking lot!

Just another thought. I watched someone go into a "Have A Nice Day" rant on a guest after they thought they were being rude with a stroller. What they did not see in the crowd was that the guest stopped the stroller and blocked passage to allow a mother to pull a small child being trampled by people traffic. We were walking the other way and remarked how nice they were to wait as a matter of fact.

So before yo choose to go that direction, remember you cannot see everything in a crowd. The person that bumps you might have just been bumped themselves. I try to overlook these small incidents. For the number of guests and castmembers at WDW, I find it remarkable how many kind and polite people I meet in a day. And for the very few people I think are rude, I figure they might be having a bad moment. One of the rudest castmembers I met in one trip was one of the kindest the next one.

I'm not usually bothered by other people's behavior at WDW, I'm so excited about being there myself and almost oblivious to those around me, except after a few times of being run into by children pushing strollers. I don't get that, it's crowded and parents are letting the kids push strollers into people...why???

Some people just can't be killed with kindness no matter what, so we just try to ignore them although it's not easy all the time. It does amaze me how much rude behavior goes on, but we just try to focus on the nice friendly attempts of people that try to accomodate one another. Any time we've experienced rude behavior, we've only had to look a short distance before we caught someone's eye who witnessed it and we all rolled our eyes and laughed...it's almost part of the entertainment. As parents who use both a double and a single stroller at this stage, I must admit the kid pushing stroller thing is a pet peeve and while I'm on the subject so are the walkers that cut off a stroller pushing person. In no way do I feel pushing a stroller gives you the right of way, but the "motercycle mentality" of weaving in and out is no less rude and dangerous than an agressive person behind a stroller. Most people who lapse with their manners are simply overwhelmed and confused.

For example, I bumped into someone because the line to get the rental stroller had been changed. I guess they expected a larger crowd that day and set up a different queue.

Anyway, yes, I bumped into the gentleman but I was so shocked and disoriented that there was a chain in my path (that I just walked the day before) I stepped back. Compounding the problem I couldn't see the entrance and people are rushing everywhere. He says very loudly "I guess people don't say excuse me anymore!" I just looked at him blankly kind of in shock because I didn't know which way to turn.

My point is most people are quite nice at the parks and if you will feel much better is you excuse poor behavior as temporary insanity.

I was actually shocked by how many rude people we encountered in WDW in May! I had many "rude people should not be allowed into Disney World" rants (my poor DH!). I know, I should let it go, but I hardly ever can. Esp. when you are at the front of the line for the tram to the parking lot with a 10 mo. old, and stoller folded and ready to go. Tram pulls up and RUDE people run down other rows to cut you off. We did not make it on the tram and boy was I PO'd! People stink sometimes.

Because of this, when at MK next we walked, in the 95 degree heat pushing a stroller to the Daisy lot! (I think it was Daisy, it was the one after Pluto)

Also, why do people who rent strollers feel the need to load them under the tunnel at the train station and totally block traffic trying to enter Main Street? Hello?!

Ok, done venting - back to doing WDW in Dec. & Jan.

Pool hopping is not allowed---

I don't like the stroller loading in the tunnel either--you would think they could have a better location for that.
