I have never used it before. I would love to get a 2 1/2 or 3 star for around $50 by Seaworld. Is that possible?

This is all I know. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Once you bid, the hotel is yours.

That's all, lol. Please help me out. We are leaving in two weeks. Thanks

http://biddingfortravel. scroll t.... Nice for the amount of time we spent there

I've used priceline on several occasions and have usually guessed correctly on what hotel I would get. First I go to hotwire dot com and enter the area and dates that I'm looking for. Once I get an offer for the hotwire hotels I go to betterbidding dot com to figure out what hotels they are offering. I'll then check on biddingfortravel dot com to see if others are getting that hotel for around that time. Once I'm pretty sure about what hotel I'll get or I've narrowed down the possibilities and am happy with all of them I'll place a bid on priceline that's lower than the price offered on hotwire. I used this process last week and got the Hilton at Downtown Disney for $60 on my first bid - which makes me think I may have been able to get it for less. Good luck!

Totally possible! Go to www.betterbidding.com to get hints on bidding on Priceline and to see what hotels others have won. There is a winning bid calendar at the top of the page and I see that a couple of people have received the Universal/Sea World 3* Hyatt Place for $30 per night in your same time frame. Make sure that you totally understand bidding and rebidding (explained here: http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showforum=173&) before you start!

I wont answer your Priceline Question, but I also recommend www.betterbidding.com. I am more a Hotwire user. You can check out the prices (I used June 20 to 27, 2 adults, 2 childs). If your party is larger than four, you may have problems with the number of beds. Carefull with the area, as it might be larger than you think.

I personally like to book only "Best Value" and over 2.5 stars only. You might find "extra charges" in 3.5 to 4.0 star hotels.

You can use betterbidding to try and guess the hotels.

Wow, thanks for the help and quick responses guys!!

Yeah, there is going to be 10 of us going. We are looking at 2 rooms. But we might get 3 if the deal is right. I'm mainly worried about cleanliness. My Mom will freak if it is a dirty room.

It goes

1. Cleanliness
2. Size
3. Location (we are driving down, so we have a car)
4. Hotel Staff/Helpfullness
5. Hotel Dining (we will be eating off site the whole time)

You will definitely need 3 rooms for 10 people! But here's the big rub ... you cannot select the exact hotel with either Priceline or Hotwire so your criteria of 1-5 are useless. Well ... you will get a clean hotel room as long as you stick with 3*'s. But ... the size of the room will vary ... the exact location will vary (but you can select a general area) ... hotel staff and nearby dining will totally vary. You give up being able to dictate specifics when you roll the dice on Priceline or Hotwire. What you gain is a hotel that costs less than half of what you would pay by booking directly.

Hotwire is more predictable and with 10 people that woud be my choice. PL only guarantees 1 bed, and we have gotten a king. Not very good for more than 2.

We have gotten a king too, but it is far less likely in Orlando than other places. Even when you are assigned a King you can request a Double when you get there. Of course, the OP can use Hotwire instead (and check Better Bidding for hints on which hotel is which) but it will be more expensive.

The OP can also think about Sky Auction for a condo, or look into renting a pool home :).

The 3* Hyatt Place Universal is coming up at $30/nt. on Priceline. I received it for an August stay and several others have received it for May, June and July. The great thing about the Hyatt Place is the have a sofabed in the room too. We're a family of 6 so I bid for 2 rooms, but when I checked Hyatt's website, would could have "squeezed" into one room. The max occupancy according to the website is 6 in a room. We'll be there for 10 nights so I'm glad we'll have the space, but if yours is a short trip you may want to "squeeze" in.

betterbidding.com is the way to go - you can with a good degree of accuracy figure out the hotels on hotwire with the help of that site. They also have a calendar of wins that show you what hotels are biting and and when. We got the hyatt place universal for $41 or so a night on hotwire for the end of this week before we check in to disney. On our way out of disney we won the hyatt place sea-world (convention center) for $34 a night. It pays to research better bidding
