Well not super last minute but this July. It would be starting July 20 and going thru the following Sat. We'd like to stay on site to avoid having to rent a car but if it off site plus a car is a lot cheaper than onsite we'd do that too. What's the best way to do this? Are there any big events going on that week?

Back to add that it would me dh and I, and 3 kids, ages in siggy :)

I would go to the Disney site and price the rooms where you would want to stay. The summer offer is not great - although we love staying onsite.

We haven't gone in July for many years so I don't know if there is anything going on.

I would check out the Orlando board for lots of great off-site options. You will need a car, but with the ages of your kids, it would be much cheaper even with paying for parking and a rental car to stay off-site.
