Tips, good rates and/or codes for resorts in Jan 2009

Hi Gang,

My husband and I have always looked for good rates on rental cars and book our hotel way out for fear of not getting a good room.

This year for my 40th brithday - three adult trip we have only reserved a cheap (not mentioning motel, but I mean CHEAP) hotel 5 minutes from WDW just in case we can't get a hotel, while we could work the codes and the boards looking for that diamond in the rough last minute deals avenue seeing if we can get a great hotel/resort at a cheap price... We know January is a really slow time, so that should help on top of the current economy, we figure hotels/resorts and maybe even WDW resorts will have lower rates at the last minute.

Does anyone have any good tips, codes, advice????

The january codes haven't come out yet, so we are all waiting, and some of us not so patiently . The only codes I know of are the AAA codes, and we are not members. If you find out about any new codes, please post them. Last year at the end of Oct. some codes came out, so lets see what happens this year. We should hear something soon!!!

I suggest you look at tripadvisor.com at your extremely cheap hotel and make sure it isnt a roach motel!

You might want to check out this link. It has historical information on when discounts were released in the past. If it follows last year's trend, January discounts would be released late Oct/early Nov:
