Tips fpr planning

My husband and I are nearing the home stretch in terms of our Disney trip. He is really going with the flow and I am really the main person planning the trip. I have decided that we are going to get 3-day park hopper plus tickets. That should be good for us because we are also going to do Universal and Sea World(with my brother and his family). I decided that we are going try to do two parks per day and the third day will be sort of a "clean up" day where we go to all of the things that we missed or really wanted to see. I think we are going to be crazy trying to do the two parks in one day routine but I think it can be done. We are going to do AK and MGM in one day and Epcot and MK the next day.
So my question is: In all of the parks(MK, Epcot, AK, MGM), what do you totally recommend that we do...What do we just HAVE TO SEE at Disney?

How late will the parks be open when you are there? JMO, but travel time is a huge factor so sometimes, depending on how late the parks are open, it can be hard to do 2 parks in one day - not that it isn't doable.

Will you have any children with you at WDW? This could also determine how many hours you spend in each park & what attractions you will want to see.

If you do attempt 2 parks in a day then EPCOT & MK (as you said) or EPCOT & MGM are good because you can get the boat or monorail to them & not have to transfer any buses. Do AK early, early, early in the morning.

Again, the "must sees" could be different depending on if you have children with you at all. If you don't, then definitely see all the "E" ticket attractions/thrill attractions in each park.

If you do have children with you it depends on their ages as to what they'll want to do.

A big tip - UTILIZE FASTPASS!!!!! Make sure when you get your FASTPASS you check the time on it that tells you when you can acquire another FP.

Remember, you probably won't see it all in 3 days. We've been there numerous times & have still not seen & done it all.

THANKS FOR ANSWERING MEL!!! We won't have any kids with us and we have revamped this a little. We have decided to do Epcot on Saturday, AK and MGM on Sunday for Star Wars and MK on Monday. It will be just me and my husband. This will be his first time to Disney and I want to make sure he is really happy with this trip. Any further suggestions?

I guess my main suggestion would be to do AK very early, like I said before. Then head over to MGM.

Kali River Rapids is a lot of fun, but you WILL be soaking wet when you are through. We don't always do it, depending on what is planned for the remainder of the day.

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
Muppet Vision is fun & so is Little Mermaid

EPCOT -
Mission: Space
Test Track
Ellen's Energy Adventure
Spaceship Earth
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience

Living with the Land is interesting

MK - (so many)
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Haunted Mansion
Pirates of the Carribean

There are so many other attractions to see & do in each park - it's hard to decide between all of them when you have limited time.

My #1 suggestion would be to try & see your "must do's" but leave time to "stop & smell the roses". There are so many little things about Disney that can be missed if you're in a hurry to accomplish a lot.

There are some great places to eat in the parks also. The Flame Tree BBQ in AK is great - you can find a seat behind the counter service restaurant in the shade right by the water - very relaxing!

The Land has some great choices for counter service in EPCOT - the countries are great for meals also.

All the parks have some nice sit down restaurants. The ice cream parlour in MK makes their own waffle cones! Also, try the Dole Whips in MK in Adventureland - Mmmmmmmmmm!! Beaver Tails in EPCOT over in Canada are really good too.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. Try to relax a bit while enjoying as much as you can.

I'm not an expert on WDW by any means, (been there once in 2000), however, I would think it might be better to do AK early in the a.m.) then Epcot the same day. (then you can see Illuminations)From what I seen when I was there I think MK and Epcot have the most to see and do. (espec. if you want to do the WS at Epcot). AK was great but did not want to spend as much time there as the other parks. Then do MK and MGM the next day. You can watch Fantasmic if you do MGM in the evening then you can see Wishes on one of the non-park days from the Poly or one of the other resorts after a dinner there. Just a suggestion, hope it helps

Are you staying at a Disney resort? If you are, you should definitely try to do E Ride night at the MK. You can enjoy the park all day, and save most of the major attractions for the 3 hours after the park is closed to the public. The lines are much shorter.
My neice is there now and did e rides last night. They rode everything twice.

There's information about it somewhere on this website. I know Monday is an e ride night. You must be staying at a Disney resort to participate. If you are, buy the tickets at your hotel asap for Monday, as it does sell out occasionally. It's around $12, but is well worth it!

Just a note. My husband & I did Kali River Rapids at AK on two trips & used rain ponchos that we had folded up in our backpack; hardly got wet at all! You can get them at any of the parks (we bought them last year at Epcot when we got caught in an afternoon shower that lasted a couple of hours!) or buy one before coming.
