I paid for my DVC PAP exchange voucher using Disney GCs on Thursday. I did it at a ticket window located at EPCOT's main entrance. I had no problems at all. The CM gave me a long receipt and advised me to hold onto it in case I lose my voucher. She also encouraged me to take a picture of the back of the voucher with my smartphone before I left the ticket booth, just in case I lose it.Has anyone used gift cards to get park tickets lately?
That would be true for online or over the phone. You can use as many GCs as you need when making a purchase in person at the parks.I just called the ticketing number and was told I could only use 2 forms to purchase a park pass.
Thank you so much for posting. You just saved me a huge headache and probably a panic attack. I am heading up (yes I am in S Fl.) in June. My plan was to buy Disney Gift Cards at Target for the 5% discount and then use them to purchase a dining discount card (another 20% off yeah!) and then buy park tickets for the whole 7 members traveling together. (Fl residents are blacked out the summer months per Disney for any discounts so thought this was the way to go!) If I purchase the two items in person will they allow multiple gift cards? Just wondering. Thank you for your reply.![]()
If you purchase in person, then it is no problem. The problem is when making purchases online or over the phone, though try that 407 number above, as maybe those CMs could do multiple Gift Cards over the phone.
So...multiple cards can be used...such as on meals at a park? So if I run out of money on one car, I can use another at CS restaurants?
I just recently paid our trip off online using gift cards. The only issue I had was that each card had to be done as a separate transaction. Meaning, I had to go through the entire payment process for each gift card individually. I had first tried to put in that I was making a payment in the full amount of my combined gift cards, but it only let me put in one gift card, then wanted a credit card for the balance. So I had to do each gift card as a payment by itself. Took a while, but, I was able to use all of my gift cards by doing it that way.
After spending over 2 hours on my birthday getting the run around with CMs who don't really know what they are talking about, I thought I would save you all the time and let you know what is really currently happening with Disney Gift Cards.
1. Online, you can only use ONE Disney gift card for a purchase. If the price is more than the value of the Gift Card, then you must pay the balance with another form of payment.
2. On the phone, you can only use TWO Disney gift cards. If you are buying something like park tickets that value more than the 2 gift cards, again, you need to use another form of payment.
3. I believe if you buy a Vacation Package from Disney, the ONE Disney Gift Card limit still applies online, so for your $200 deposit, you would need to call and make the reservation over the phone if your gift card value is less than that.
4. You can make multiple payments for your Vacation Package over the phone, so you can slowly pay for it completely with cards if you want. I believe the 2 at a time limit applies, but you can always call back.
5. Disney Gift Cards CANNOT be combined currently. Regardless of what a CM might tell you, it's not true (if you read this weeks or months from now, it doesn't hurt to check a policy change). Very frustrating with the ONE and TWO Gift Card limits. The Gift Card Services CM did say that eventually he believes you will be able to combine Disney Gift Cards yourself through their website, but he didn't know when that would happen. Judging from how much all of the other CMs knew about things, I wouldn't count on it happening, though.
6. At the resorts and theme parks, there are not currently any restrictions on Disney Gift Card use, presumably because they can see each Gift Card in person to verify that there are multiples and the numbers of each.
As a side note, if you want to get the Memory Maker and have rented points through a DVC owner, the phone system will and any reservation CM will try to send you over to DVC Member Services. They will tell you that you can add the Memory Maker to your rented DVC Package. You cannot. The owner must call or conference call you in, just like a dining package or Magical Express.
You CAN just call TICKETING and order the Memory Maker yourself not connected to your reservation. It's quick and easy, but in the phone system, ask for TICKETING (like theme park tickets), not MEMORY MAKER because the latter will send you to reservations instead of ticketing.
No. You cannot. Orbitz has no interest in Mickey Money. They want cash. Can I book a Disney room on orbitz using my Disney rewards or a Disney gift card?
I know, I know. Dumb question but figured I'd ask since ultimately Disney gets most of the money for booking through Orbitz so wasn't sure if they had an agreement. Also, How would I use my Disney redemption card to purchase gift cards? Can I through Target using my card like a debit/credit card or will it have to be through the Disney store? No. You cannot. Orbitz has no interest in Mickey Money. They want cash.
This thread is almost 3 years old.
It contains a lot of outdated info, which could confuse many people who don't look at the dates when posts were made.
Thank you. Looking to book for 2018 but closing my Disney CC so nervous my redemption card will be void so trying to get Disney gift cards with my redemption rewards if that makes sense. Thank you for the help.If you're referring to the redemption card earned through Disney Visa, it is a gift card and can be used as such in the parks, stores, etc. The redemption card would have no value to Orbitz, Target, or any other store besides Disney.
HTHs!
