Tips for the new pirate game that awards ship pieces

There's another thread on the pirate ship game, but I wanted to start a new one so this info doesn't get lost in it.

Here are some tips I came up with:

  • The arrows on your compass tell you exactly what direction to go for the things you need to pick up. (There may be islands between you and the pickups, though.) As you collect them, the arrows go away.
  • Steer well clear of islands; they tend to stick the ship.
  • You speed up by tapping (or holding down) the W key, and you slow down by tapping (or holding down) the S key. On the ship's wheel at the bottom center of the window are arrows that show you the relative speed of your ship, from one down-arrow (backwards) to three up-arrows (forward fast).
  • You shoot at something by clicking your mouse on it. Click rapidly to unload all your cannonballs into it; there's rarely a need to conserve shots. You'll regenerate cannonballs fairly quickly.
  • Ignore a fire on your ship, It just means you were hit. It'll go away in a few seconds.
  • Picking up an item (levels 1 and 2) or running into a skull island (level 3) regenerates 1 health.
  • For level 1: ignore the other pirate ships. You shouldn't need to bother fighting them; you can outrun them easily.
  • Each time you beat a level, the window will go to another Disney web site. Click the back arrow in your browser to continue playing the game.
  • For level 2: the ghost pirate ships are a bit more trouble. Unload your cannons into them if they get in your way, but you'll probably be able to outrun and avoid them.
  • For level 3: run into the four skull islands once each while avoiding the Kraken. Here's the strategy that works for me, but it'll take some practice:
    1. Drift slowly until you see the Kraken.
    2. High-speed away from the Kraken and unload an entire round of cannonballs into it. One more shot will kill it, but don't kill it yet.
    3. Slow down a bit, keeping the Kraken on the screen. Let it chase you without catching you, and make sure it doesn't bump into an island or it'll go away and come back later.
    4. Head towards a skull island. As soon as you see one, speed up all the way and evade its fireballs at a distance, then head straight for it and bump into it. Unload your cannonballs into the Kraken, and the Kraken will go away.
    5. Go back to step 1. wound the Kraken and lead it to your next island, keep your distance from the island until it shoots and you can evade its shots, then bump into the island while killing the Kraken. Repeat as necesssary. It WILL take practice, but once you've got the technique it won't seem impossible.
  • When you get a code, sometimes the last letter won't be visible. Right-click on the code and pick Select All, right-click again and pick Copy, then paste it into Notepad or somewhere else you can save it until you type it into the game.
  • There's a small bug in the codes: when it gives you the Bonus Code, it actually puts two lines into the one-line field - it tacks on the Level 3 Code it already gave you. This can make it look like the Bonus Code disappears when you click in the field. If this happens, just do the Select All / Copy / paste into Notepad that I explained in the previous tip, and you'll see the Bonus Code.

I hope this helps!

I'd like to add something:

On level 3, I've found that if you're going full speed, directly at the Skull Rocks and it fires, you can usually straight through the shots if you're relativly close to the rock. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if they fixed this, but it's worked for me. Also, if you manage to get all 3 islands, you can ignore the Kracken (as long as he doesn't appear directly in front of you) and ram the island, because you will win before the Kracken can kill you.

OMG, ElectricLime! I've been working on level 3 for soooo long, and I had just about given up. But your hints, step by step, especially for level 3, are absolutely excellent. Your are right on the mark about shooting the Kracken, but not killing it, and having it follow you around. I finished level 3 on the first attempt after reading your hints. You are the best! I bow down........ lol!

ugh. I am over this game. I tried level 3 21 times before I finally gave up. I just need to get 3 middle pieces and my ship will be complete. So I need to get 3 more codes. but not tonight, I am mad at this game so I am stepping away from it. :badpc:

heres a tip, keep playing until you get the very best bug anyone could ask for.. the Kraken doesn't follow you or bother you at all.. i beat the game twice with this bug

:O How?

not sure how but dfinitely did happen, it almost looked like he was stuck behind the rock trying to get me, but as i sailed away, he remained there still flailing his tentacles wildly

Can I submit this thread for the award of "Best Thread Ever," please? :woohoo: As others said, I followed your guide and won the third stage on my first try (heh, first try post-read that is, LOL). Thank you bundles; now I can go on vacation Sunday knowing I have a full pirate ship and don't need to worry about it when I get back! :teeth:

that happened to me once, too, but I didn't trust that Kraken and I was waiting for him to jump out of the water and eat my ship at any moment.

..this game's made me a little jumpy. lol.

Thanks for the tips. I finally completed all three levels after much work.

Keeping the monster in sight is a really helpful tip you gave, it kept it from popping up out of nowhere.

Once I figured at which angle to approach the skull without sticking to an island it was just then a matter of trying until I got it.

Now I have to earn two more for each of the girls, but that will have to wait until our return.

yes i just got a bug so no kraken so i have the full ship and a bonus code

lol my bonus code is exactly the same as the 3rd code..

No, it's not. Read my tip about the game putting two codes into the bonus field, so that it looks like only the 3rd code is in there - select all / copy / paste the code to see both of them.
