Tips for small children

Toys and treats for the plane?

Treats were limited to what we were allowed to take on board/through customs but both ours have always had a soft spot for cheerios so they ate lots of those!
Plus - they're not going to make too much mess

Toys - I gathered up a few little toys from home (and put them away before the trip so they seemed 'new' when we needed them), a couple of brand new little plastic character toys, christmas cracker type novelties + two board books. And stickers too I think? And whilst we didn't find we needed any toys during the trip I did plan originally for them to double up as toys in our room.
The criteria for everything we took? Small + light! (Oh and nothing which played tunes/made noises etc which might bother other people on the flight)

Bulkhead seats - we were given these once, even though our 2nd DD was just slightly too old for the sky cot. I don't have any strong preferences here but admittedly it was nice not to have to worry about anyone in front of you (either you annoying them or having someone recline right into your space - which is crowded enough if you have a small child!) + they do offer a little more leg room.

We are here with DD at the moment and she is 23 months.

For the journey in the car she had the I pad for games games and watched films.

For the journey on the plane she also had the I pad for games, films and Disney junior shows. I also had a trunki full of toys. I went to the £1 shop and got her little toys. I thought if she lost any or broke I wouldn't be bothered having spent under £10 to fill it. We had sticker books, coloring books, doctor set, tea set.

Also having food drinks brought round every now and again helped.

We did have 2 very short upsets and she did sleep very well (twice) and this is a little lady that doesn't nap at home and hasn't slept in her push chair since she was about 6 months old. Hates being in her high chair, car seat Don't stress there were plenty of other children on the plane that had melt downs and were running up and down the aisle. I was so stressed leading up to the holiday but honestly it was fine.

In the parks we have been going in for mornings getting there for opening leaving after lunch and returning about 4pm.

Having a great time. She is napping at the moment. We are sat out on our balcony watching the balloon go up and down in the mid 70s. Don't want to come home on Thursday x
