We are staying at the Poly with DS this Sept. Any ideas for organizing our room to activites that would be fun for him around the resort? We have only stayed at WL so I am not familar with the Poly, plus this will be our first time traveling with a baby. :scared1: Thanks!:goodvibes

You've chosen a great resort for travelling with a baby. We stayed at Poly when our twins were 18 months old. Our babies had fun (we think!) at the Ohana character breakfast and also at the Ohana family-style dinner. They also learned to take cat naps in the stroller, so we'd walk the grounds enjoying a drink while pushing them around in the stroller. The biggest thing I remember from that trip, though, is being able to hop on the monorail to go to MK and Epcot. With a baby or babies, it's very handy to just roll the stroller right on the monorail, leaving all the baby supplies and the baby right in the stroller. This is especially handy at night when everyone is tired and the baby is sleeping. Enjoy being in Disney when your child is a baby -- we have our fondest memories of being in Disney when our twins were babies.

Thanks for the advice! We are going to Ohanas one day so I hope that he likes it! I think it will be a fun trip, right now he loves to go out to stores etc and look aorund so he will have a ball with all there is to see at wdw, plus we are brining my parents for an extra set of hands.:grouphug:

Ahhh yes, I'm slowing remembering those days of when our girls totally enjoyed just looking around at everything in Disney. They loved the Living Seas area in Epcot because of all the fish!! We ate at Coral Reef and had a table near the wall with all the fish and it was one of our best dinners because the babies just watched the fish the whole meal! They also loved Animal Kingdom because of all the animals to look at. And we all loved MK because we could go on all the kiddie rides together -- we put the babies in baby bjorn carriers and went on every ride we could!

Congrats on your first trip to WDW with the little one! We took our daughter to WDW for the first time when she was 13-months. We stayed at the Poly and I remember her favorite thing were the ducks and rabbits. Our room faced the lagoon so she watched the ducks from the balcony. We also strolled her around the Poly grounds and often rabbits would be sitting in the pathways and we would just stop and watch. The suggestion about the 'Ohana breakfast is a good one. We did that and she enjoyed the characters and being in the 'parade' around the restaurant. One tip that I learned is to make sure you know where each of the Baby Centers are in each park. They were so clean, quiet and convenient for changing diapers, feeding etc. I would walk the extra steps to change her in there as opposed to the changing areas in the bathrooms! Enjoy your time and just take in your son's reaction to the 'magic'. :cloud9:

I was planning to use the baby centers, I have only heard great things about them. Thanks for the advice!:goodvibes

I always pack those plastic outlet plugs, there were some easy accessible to a baby in our room at the Poly. I also take one of those foam thingies that keeps the doors from shutting on babies fingers, the bathroom door in our room was pretty heavy - these are probably more important for a toddler but they only cost a couple dollars. I just keep a little bag of baby proofing items in in my luggage and add to it as my baby/ now a toddler gets older.

If you ask for a first floor room you won't have to take the elevator every time you go to your room with the stroller.

I did not even know about the door stop things. I need to check out that section of the store soon! Thanks!

First of all your baby is SOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!! Congrats!

I have posted a thread on what to pack w/ children and someone posted a great idea so I thought I would pass it along....
Buying one of those over the door shoe holders... they use it to put all thier toiletetries in ... I know having a baby you will be bringing a bunch of things, so I took this advise and added it on my list of things to bring! :)
Also, I have read somewhere that kids of a certain age need to wear swimmy diapers... (i know huggies has them) when swimming in the pools... if I find that I will post it too! :)
