Tips for our carry-on alcohol

Has anyone brought on the little 4 packs of wine bottles like the bare foot brand? I am not one to drink an entire bottle in one night usually because I get busy with the kids and remember not being able to fit it in the fridge after it was opened. I thought the little bottles for me would be easier although I do tend to drink more when I have those for some odd reason.
You can bring the small bottles but only 2 of them. Even though the amount In the 4 small bottles wouldn't exceed the amount in 2 standard size bottles, DCL doesn't take that into account.

I am so glad that there are no all you can drink packages offered on disney. Even when have not been able to carry on at embarkation, I have found that Disney offers plenty of ways to drink at reasonable prices without introducing the "all you can drink" atmosphere.

Mixology etc classes
On Fantasy, (and maybe others) the skyline card (basically buy 5 get 1 free)
On Fantasy (and maybe others) there's a card for 1 drink in each bar at a discount
beer mug
buckets of beer on deck
drink of the day
wine packages at dinner
sometimes 2 for 1 on deck

and you can carry on wine and beer from a port

To me, these are a much better value and keep the ships' atmosphere so much more family friendly.

Wow really? Did this happen to you or is it on a post here so I can read about it?

The information comes from DCL's published policy and, if I'm remembering correctly, that information was confirmed by people who contacted DCL after the limits on alcohol were implemented and asked if 2 half bottles would count as 1 bottle. Unfortunately, those threads regarding the change in policy were quite extensive and I just don't have the time to dig it up right now. Now, while that was the policy stated by DCL, is it possible the person checking the alcohol at the port on embarkation day could be persuaded to allow it? Yes, it's possible. It's also possible they won't even ask you about the bottles in your bag. There have been reports from people who were carrying on wine and beer and weren't even asked about it. But it's also possible security at the port will ask you and will stick to the policy as written and limit you to 2 bottles, even though they are small. So it's up to you if you'd like to take your chances that they will allow it and risk having anything over 2 bottles stored for you until the end of the cruise.

Here is the policy as written by DCL

Q.
Are Guests allowed to bring alcoholic beverages on board the ship?

A.
Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call. These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage.

Guests wishing to consume wine or champagne that they have brought on board in one of the dining rooms will be charged a corking fee of $25.00 per bottle.

Please note:

  • Any alcohol packed in checked luggage will be removed and stored until the end of the cruise.
  • All alcohol brought onboard must be in an original unopened container. Partially used bottles and those in which the seal has been broken will be destroyed and no compensation will be offered.
  • Any wine or champagne in excess of 2 bottles or beer in excess of 6 beers will be stored until the end of the cruise.
  • Bringing liquors and spirits (including powdered alcohol) on board is prohibited. These items will be stored until the end of the cruise.
  • Guest MUST retrieve any stored alcohol at the end of the cruise. Items not retrieved will be destroyed and no compensation will be offered.
  • Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.

We had 2 six packs in one rolling suitcase 2 weeks ago. I told the scanning lady it was a six pack each for my husband and I - who was right there - and she was good with it.

I wish Disney would just get with the program and sell drink packages for adults. I asked and was told "Oh no, Disney is for families we could not do that." Disney should read this thread and understand that adults in some families enjoy having a drink while they are on vacation and they don't want to have to take out a second mortgage to pay their bar tab at the end of their cruise. Come on Disney don't we pay enough to cruise on your ship and visit your park??? Look at my signature there is a reason why there are so many years between my last cruises with you, I was still going on cruises just not with you.

The response makes no sense as they DO sell wine packages.
