i just purchased tickets to MVMCP for 11/28. :santa:

i was wondering if any DVC'ers had any reviews on the event, having never been there before myself. or perhaps even suggestions on what to do/see 1st, 2nd, etc, to stay one step ahead of the crowds... ;)

Well, what has worked for us as far as the "free" photo works: get your map and go to the furthest one to the back of the park first thing (while you look good and BEFORE Splash Mountain). In our experience the first photo area was packed.
In the past if you did a group photo they would only send 1 photo per address so if a family of 5 with paid tickets and entitled to 5 photos would only recieve 1 photo. Give 5 different addresses to get your 5 photos (work, relative, friend).
Have a great time!

Well, this year there will not be "free" photos. It's been mentioned on these boards and I even wrote to WDW and found that it was true. There would be discount Photo Pass pictures. The person I spoke with said that a benefit was that it would be available for pick up as you were leaving the park.

I had written the note complaining that Disney raises prices and gives less, but the person said that in the past they had gotten many complaints from people who were not able to get the free photo. To me, part of the blame was on Disney because last year for one of the parties, MVMCP I think, there wasn't even a notation on the map as to where the photos were taken.

Oh well.

Enjoy the party! We are going again. We have not gotten good photos from Photo pass, but I suppose we'll give it a try. We're going later, in December. This will be our 4th one. We enjoy both MVMCP and MNSSHP.

We like the show at the theater in Tomorrowland. Seats fill up quickly, so my suggestion would be to get to the show well ahead of time. Also, the parade is very popular, so get a good spot for viewing. If you can forget about rides for the night and concentrate on special MVMCP things, you will be better off, IMHO.

I don't have a touring tip, but I do have a tip. See that cute little hat on your jumpy guy? Make sure you pack one for each in your party, and the gloves and the warm coat. Let me tell you, we went 2 years ago and it was FREEZING. Cold temps and high winds. We were prepared, but we saw many cold adults and too many cold children. Sitting at 12 am watching a parade with sobbing children is not fun (esp for the kiddos).

We really enjoyed the event and if we did not have APs we would do it again in a heartbeat. The CMs were the friendliest I have ever seen them be, and considering the weather, they were GREAT.

Hopefully it will be warm and beautiful when you go. :wizard:

We'll be at MVMCP that same night!

We've never been before and we are quite excited!

Our family went last year and had so much fun. We are probably going to go again this year.

First I would go to the show in Tommorowland as someone else suggested. We didn't realize how crowded it would be and ended up missing it altogether because we couldn't get a seat for the last show. Stake out spots for the parade. The parade is incredible. The first parade is a little more crowded, so if you don't mind, go to the second one. There is a dance party in Fantasyland that is a lot of fun. They have a DJ and the characters come and dance with your kids.

We focused a little too much on the rides. I will do that a little differently next time, making sure we get to see al the shows. Have fun. It is a great way to get into the spirit.

My letter that came with the tickets still included the free photo.

So I will see if they are sending them out or going to give me a free photopass one . But becuase it's on their letter with the tickets we will be getting one or the other.

I hope that's the case because I have a "set" of 3 photos so far, matching frames, and definitely the Disney MVMCP background. I was hoping for these matching pictures forever... heck, maybe someone listened if enough people complained!! I think my correspondence with them was at least 3 months ago. And maybe for all I know, I have remembered wrong, it probably was MNSSHP that I was complaining about, I haven't bought MVMCP tickets yet, and I do "will call" so no letter comes.

I know others have stated that they are not offered for MNSSHP . I have tickets on order but they haven't arrived yet.

But I've had the MVMCP tickets for a while I ordered right when they became avail.

The pics are not a make or break deal but nice little souvie you just can't get anyother time.

My letter that came with my MVMCP tickets doesn't say anything about a photo.....
