hi!

I'm going to be taking a trip to Disneyland VERY soon and I'm going to be there to experience tower of terror final checkout. Just wondering what time the attraction switches over to final checkout from regular and what time is recommended to get in line for it since there's no fast pass.

Thanks

at "dusk" is about as an official timeline as you will get.

...and FYI, although it may be YOUR final checkout...the after dark changeover is referred to as "Late Checkout"

If you go on a night where there are two World of Color showings the wait will be considerably less as it gets closer to the first show time. This past Saturday at 7:30pm there was a posted 70 minutes wait. It took about a hour to get through the line and on and off the ride. When I walked out he wait had dropped down to 20 minutes as world of color started at 9.

We got in line Friday night about 8:45 and the sign said 85 minutes. It took less than an hour though.

Final checkout is when you leave your hotel room.

"Late Check Out" is a change to Tower of Terror after dusk where the entire ride is in the dark and all the effect are turned off until it closes for good in January for the Marvel changeover. Sounded kinda lame when I heard about it but it actually was amazing to ride. There are a few unexpected quirks that make it fun. Worth the wait at least once!

I've been on tot before but didn't realize they turned off the lights on the ride after dark! Neat! I know it's leaving but I thought maybe they made it scarier after dark or something and I didn't know it! Lol

I think the confusion on late vs final check out is Disney's fault. Their print info says late check out however, all of the merchandise I saw in the TOT gift shop says final check out (I just double checked and the tshirt and both of the pins I bought say final check out).

I haven't heard of this. Sounds cool! Is it completely dark just during the sit down part or the whole thing?

Final checkout refers to the actual closing of the ride, January 2017. The date is also printed on the merchandise.

Late checkout is almost completely dark, there is still some audio but the lights and visual cues are removed.
