Hoping for advice from a dis expert.

I need to cook two 12 lbs ham for Easter. They are fully cooked, half ham b__t's.

The tiny booklet that came with my roaster says to add liquid. The only other time I tried this, the meat came out shredded, not sliceable. It was however a different kind of ham, but I can't remember the name. It was an after holiday sale, inexpensive and not cooked for a special occasion.

I don't want that to happen again. I want to serve sliced ham. I have googled this and still I'm not finding good info. I don't want to ruin 2 perfect hams with 34 hungry people coming.

So, have you cooked ham in your roaster?
On the rack or off the rack?
Liquid or dry?
Used foil or not?
Tips, advice, recipe, help?

Also if they both fit in there side by side, could I cook them together?

FYI I'm a pro at turkey in the roaster now and not usually such a wimp when cooking. I just don't want to ruin it for the big party.

Thanks!

I have done 1/2 spiral hams. I wrapped ham tight in foil put about an inch of water in the pan and put ham on rack. Set the temp about 50 degrees lower then it called for on package and covered.

Thanks, that really helps!
