My dhs gramdma passed away last night
my DHs mom and his 3 brothers all live in FL and we need to find a way to get them up here
does anyone know of any sites and or codes
i called 5 airlines last night and none offer the bereavment fare anymore saying there online fares are cheap enough
i wish that was true a flight from wpbeach in fl to boston is alomost 500 per person
I also cheap tickets.com and some other sites
thanks everyone

First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. Have you tried www.kayak.com? I'm not sure if you tried Continental but as of a couple of years ago they still offered a discounted bereavement flight to immediate family (mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter). I would also try out of different airports. While they might have to drive a ways sometimes airfare can differ a lot from different airports. I know JetBlue flys in and out of Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa to Boston.

If money is an issue, perhaps they should just drive? It's a long drive, but it won't cost $2000.

sometimes the airlines will give discounts b/c of a funeral, call the airlines and ask, I think you have to show to obit from the paper.

yeah i called
jb
sw
us airways
united
delta
none of them do that anymore i was told
and 500 plus per person is just to much
even the train was 300 per person

What about Greyhound? I did a sample search for WPB to Boston for this week and got $229 roundtrip each. The chances for a decent last minute airfare probably isn't good, especially considering it's around spring break time and they will traveling from/to Florida.

My grandmother passed away a few weeks ago and we got a cheap flight from priceline.com. We got a flight on united direct from Seattle to Dulles, VA for $220. If you are not set on times this might work.

What about SW to Providence? I got $355 for selected days next week.

And airlines don't do breavements much anymore. (I am actually shocked that the price was only $500.)

Try AirTran - they go Boston to West Palm as well as Lauderdale... I see <$300 w/ 1 stop.

Continental does them still but i think its only like 10% off..

If they can get to Fort Lauderdale - Spirit Airlines.

Example:
Depart 3/8/07 7:45 PM, stop in Myrtle Beach, arrive Boston 11:40 PM
Return 3/12/07 6 AM, stop in Myrtle Beach, arrive FLL 10:05 AM
Fare per person: $265.60 (fares not guaranteed until booked)

I'm sorry for your loss. I would also try possibly Priceline. Since it is all adults you don't need to worry about what time it leaves. Try having them leave the day before you really want them there just in case they get on a redeye flight.... Good luck, and sorry for your loss.

When my grandfather passed away, my brother and I could not get a decent airfare and then we found cheaptickets. We got a pretty good deal through cheaptickets last minute deals. We need to stay a couple day longer then we wanted to, but it was cheapest way around it. We even got a rental car with the package.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
