Tips for "Blast in Space"

The pickup and deliver to information is in the upper right corner of the screen.

I finally found it this morning. Even though I'm playing full screen, if I don't have the scroll bar all the way to the bottom, I can't see the data down there. And, of course that was hiding the upper screen. Now if i can just find that dratted space station #2 within the level! I looked for it forever! It is so hard to find from the edges.

You don't need to reply to a thread to subscribe to it.

Just look at the very top of the thread and it says Thread Tools. Click on the arrow and then click on Subscribe to this Thread. Then click on Add Subscription.

Anyways, I remember this thread and tried the tips. Didn't seem to help me much since I never did beat the game.

Wow! Thanks for all the tips. I'll have to try to play this after work tonight. maybe I'll get farther in the game now. I've only made it to level six twice so far and had pretty much given up on this game. Now thanks to all you wonderful people I might actually be able to figure this game out!

A great guide to one of the most difficult games on vmk in my opinion. Took me forever to finally beat it. Every now and then I lose at level 15. Doh! Those delivery missions can get tricky.

I'm not sure I can add much more, pretty much everything has been said. Trust your radar and know your stations! Good luck!

Ok, I've been really trying at this game and I once got up to Level 7, but so far that's it. Heh.

Some questions I'm hoping someone can answer:

1) To get code I have to beat Levels 1-16. Is this correct?
2) Almost every time I exit the Arcade I am disconnected from VMK. If I manage to win the game will I still get my code even if DC from VMK?
3) Can the Arcade games be played after VMK closes?
4) Is there a specific link I can bookmark to to play Blast in Space outside of VMK or do I always have to enter it through VMK. Going back to questions 2 & 3 above, if I go into the Arcade and VMK closes, but I leave the Blast in Space window open, can I keep playing and if I win will I get a code?

I sure would hate to finally get L16 and then not get a code.

I will answer the ones I can.

1) Yes

2) I think it depends. I have been dc'd and still received the code. But once I played several times (kept blowing up) and didn't get the code. So now if I am on for more than 1/2 an hour and I don't finish the game, I dc myself and start over, to be on the safe side.

3) Not sure - I am never up that late! But since you have to be connected to get the code, it seems pointless, unless you want to practice.

4) Can't answer this, but I will try it later and see!

To answer #4:

No there is not a bookmark. I used to have one but it has been long since it was fixed, now you just get an error message saying you need to be properly logged into vmk to access that page.

And another side note on #3. Although you cannot get a code after vmk closes, I used to keep my blast in space window open; just to practice after vmk hours. As a matter of fact, I kept it open a long time until I was finally able to win the game. So when I was able to log into vmk, I was ready!

According to what I can recall, I have beaten blast in space on 40+ occasions.

I have used all the space suits (except for one, my personal one) to achieve better items and rares.

Once you can master the game, getting rich in VMK is as easy as 1,2,3

Once you pick up the cargo it asks you to pick up, the picture in the upper right-hand corner of the screen will change to what space station you have to go to in order to drop off the cargo. Just find that station.

Well I have played this game now and I have been counting the hours it has been 26 hours and now i can make it to 16 all the time but they dont give out enough rocks to shoot. My score is 13020 to 138882 . so if you want to help me out with the suit that would be nice. my vmk name is mariook. oh by the way do you get the helmet vest paints shoes when you win?

I feel kind of bad for saying this, but I've won the game four times now.

But I wanted to reply and let everyone know that I've done it by using these same techniques, although I like to use the rocketship. It's just easier for me to fly around.

But everything ElectricLime and jewelgrrl have said worked for me too.

One thing I'd like to add that works pretty good for me is that on the levels where you need to fly between the 5 different stations, you will always start right below station 2. Go there first, and then hit the outside stations, hugging the wall, keeping your eye on the radar. I even do this on the "transfer cargo" levels. If I need to go to 1, 3, 4, or 5, I will just fly around hugging the outside wall. I think you'll see fewer asteroids along the outer walls.

But definitely try to limit the flying around to as little as possible, use the radar, and when you've hit the score you need to advance, quit shooting and just find a nice quiet spot and stay there. There's no point in flying around and risk damaging the shields.

The only other thing I might add is try not to rush or take any unnecessary risks.

And before anyone asks, I'm sorry but I don't have an extra suit right now. One was for me, and two were for the kids. The fourth time I won, the VMK server was down (couldn't even get to vmk.com) and when the game ended I got a "No Data Returned" message instead of a code.

But I do plan on trying to win some and give them out.

The prize for Blast in Space was changed to Tron Arcade Cabinets, you can no longer with a Space Suit from this game. Trading would be the only way to get one of the original color suits.
