Hello all!

I will be taking a bday trip to WDW and I was wondering what are the "can't miss" experiences for the occasion and where you have had good luck with extra magic.

Thank you!

I don't think there are many "can't miss" experiences related to your birthday. Expect a lot of "Happy Birthday" wishes from CMs and guests as well. You might get a little something extra at some of the restaurants. But mainly the extra magic is you are at WDW on your birthday, which is pretty magical in and of itself. ; )

Is it your birthday, or the birthday of a child? If it's a birthday for a grown-up, you probably can't go wrong with a few adult beverages and a nice dinner in World Showcase.

I love fireworks shows, so any birthday that ends with a nighttime WDW show is good in my book. With that spirit, dinner at California Grill with its second-to-none view of Wishes may be nice. DH really liked that a few years ago.

Are you a kid at heart? Maybe CRT for some girly princessy time?

On one of my birthdays, I took the KTTK tour, which was pretty fun, but if I did a tour again on my birthday, I'd do something less informational and more plain fun, like a Segway tour, or snorkeling in The Seas.

Another thought is some spa time. Long story short, you'll have to pay for whatever experience you choose, but there are lots of ways to make your birthday even more memorable.

Wear your birthday button and you will get plenty of birthday wishes from castmembers and some guests.

Not to put a damper on your hopes of extra magic, but beyond that it will depend upon the castmembers. At some restaurants we have gotten cupcakes or other complimentary desserts, confetti on the table, a card, or champagne while at others no recognition at all. With thousands of visitors celebrating something - birthday, first visit, anniversary, graduation, engagement, wedding, family reunion, life changing experience - it isn't possible for Disney to do something for everyone. So it is best to expect just Birthday wishes and anything more you receive would be pixie dust. If you want something extra it is best to plan and pay for it yourself.

You'll get a fair amount of 'happy birthdays' from other guests and CMs. I've been to WDW for my birthday twice. Once about 10 days after my actual birthday, and last year right on my birthday. Other than birthday wishes, nothing. But, I knew that would be the case going in!!! My dd has been there twice for her birthdays....6 and 13. Very little special was done. A cupcake when she was 6, and at 13, pulled up for recognition at HDDR, but we were at a table that was practically up against the stage. She got cupcakes and a birthday placemat at a few other spots.
For adults, it's really nothing special.

I agree about the button. If it's a child , the front desk or guest services have a special number to dial where I think it is Goofy that says a birthday message. Also if you are going to Disney Springs you can get a free birthday cupcake from Sprinkles if you sign up online
