Tips for an east-coaster?

I'll be in SD this coming weekend and plan to hit up DL on Saturday. Any tips on making the trip up? I'll need to get a rental and make the trip. Where can I get a rental in the gas lamp district? What route should I go? What time of travel time can I expect? etc.......

Try calling your hotel to see if they can answer your questions. The concierge should know where you can rent a car and what the best routes would be. The hotel might even be able to get you a deal with a specific rental company. If you have AAA, they can help you with the direction/route info, too.

Disneyland is just off the 5, so that is the best route to take. Travel time, maybe an hour and a half. For rental agencies, input your hotel address into one of those travel sites like expedia and it will spit out rental agencies nearby. Have fun. Saturdays are crowded at Disneyland resort.

True ... but if you get there early (rope drop) you can get a lot done in a relatively short period of time.

Definitely rope drop. I'd go straight to Racers FP. Somehow there's always a line at Racers no matter how close to the rope you are.
