Will be at DLR on October 16-22, looking for suggestions on the "best" restaurants to book an advanced reservation for while there.

Nobody in our party is a picky eater so mostly just looking for the best combination of "Disney Magic" and good dining.

Most people will suggest Blue Bayou for the atmosphere which I will agree is amazing but I've heard a lot of reports of just ok food so for that reason we don't eat there. I would suggest Cafe Orleans for the food, the Monte Cristo is amazing and it's fun to sit outside in NOS and enjoy the sites and sounds during dinner.

Monte Cristo, you just ended the discussion there! I haven't had one in years. Cafe Orleans seems like my cup of tea, the sounds and sights are a huge part of the appeal for me. What other kind of food is served at Cafe Orleans, and Blue Bayou?

You can find the menus for both restaurants at http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/dining.htm. Blue Bayou is more expensive and has "fancier" food than CO, but you can't beat eating inside POTC. If you've never eaten there, it's worth trying at least once. Lunch will be less expensive than dinner. And the Monte Cristo is only served for lunch at BB. It is served lunch and dinner at CO. Look at the menus for CCR, S55, and any of the WOC or F! FP packages to see if any of those would be a good fit for your family.

Thanks so much! That will help immensely when deciding where to eat!

I would also say Blue Bayou and if you can, wait for a waterside table. Incredible atmosphere. Deserts were better than the actual meal but it’s a must do for our family.

I've been asking a similar question for my upcoming trip to Disneyland and have heard a lot of very enthusiastic reviews for Napa Rose in the Grand Californian and Wine Country Trattoria at California Adventure. I can't personally comment on either one until after October, but they may be worth checking out if you're looking for a fancy-pants meal.

I think that Blue Bayou will definitely have to be a stop for us but alas, with other members of the family going(all of which who are old enough to have major input into where we eat) I will have to discuss it.

Thanks for more ideas! I do have a question with a member of our party under the legal age. Girlfriend turns 21 actually on the last day of the trip, well the morning we check out would she still be granted entry to those places, same question for Trader Sam's because I have heard good things about there as well.

She'll have no problem at any of the restaurants. I'll have to let the experts comment on Trader Sams. :)

She will be able to go in Trader Sam's until 8pm. After that, it's 21 and over only--you can hang out on the terrace all night, however.
Napa Rose and Wine Country Trattoria aren't really in the same universe. Napa Rose is probably the finest restaurant at DLR. It's amazing if you like fine dining....especially the Chef's Counter. Carthay Circle is also a really nice experience, and you can get the WoC package with it as well.

Thanks! Really appreciate the input. My sister is dying to see WoC so that is a good idea.
