Tips for a one-day visit?

I need some expert advice! I'll have only one day to visit- I'm tacking it on to the end a business conference at the Convention Center in early November. What tips can you offer for a first-time, solo visitor? I've never been to DLR, but I do know WDW pretty well, and I've gotten a general lay-of-the-land by looking at maps and websites. This will likely be my one-and-only time visiting Anaheim, so I want to make the most of my one little day! I would really like to do both parks if possible. I'm not a huge fan of shows or parades, so I don't need to figure those in (though I probably would like to try to catch World of Color, unless it would seriously cut dowm on my chances of seeing as much as I can). Any advice is greatly appreciated!

WoC will take at least 2 hours if ou want it to be worthwhile.

Fireworks would also be worthwhile because it is different. F! maybe it's much better in DL but these will take a lot of time as well.

I would concentrate on your favorite rides and the onese that are different or unique to DL.


Could you get a 2day PH and come another evening?

One issue to keep in mind are single rider lines:

Fastpass & Single Rider Information

o Being single would make it easier to get in to see WOC without a long wait.
o Get an early start.
o Check whether or not your day is a Magic Morning day and how to work with that.

I just got back from a 1 day trip and we hopped to both parks successfully! I would spend all morning collecting fastpasses over at DL- Only ride standby or single rider in the morning- Save all those fastpasses and then head over to DCA around 1pm.. utilize single rider lines and try to get fast passes if they're available. I would just watch WOC from the pier or somewhere where you don't need a fast pass or don't need to wait in line for a good spot. Just watch it in passing. Then head back over to Disneyland and use all your fastpasses from the morning that you collected- Watch the fireworks while on Big Thunder Mountain (this is one of my favorite things to do) and enjoy your night!

I'd suggest a non MM day.

Take advantage of SR lines & FP.

Definitely go with a non MM day if you want to go to Fantasyland and have lower lines.

Know what you want to ride/do/see. Sketch out the basic idea of how to do those things. Read it many times. Don't expect to look at it in the park LOL. Though actually on my solo trips I do look at notes, and I even write notes so I remember what I did when...it's the family trips that cause me to forget to do that.

Have good shoes, with perhaps a backup pair.

Thanks for all the advice- my plan right now is to not do WoC, just to use my limited time most efficiently. I appreciate all the info!
