Tips and tricks

i always bring empty water bottles or sippy cups. They airlines do not have lids for those little cups they give out and they will always get spilled. The flight attendant will fill them or give you a can of juice you can pour in. I sometimes even bring one for myself so my kids don't spill mine. ;)

Southwest always give my girls cups with lids and straws.:confused3

Make sure you check in online 24 hours (exactly) before your flight since you are flying Southwest. Because there are not assigned seats you want to be as early in the boarding group as possible. If you are in the "A" group you will board in order of the numbers on your boarding passes. If you are in the "B" or "C" groups you will be able to board between the "A" & "B" groups. With 7 in your group you will need a lot of space together so I would recommend that once you board go directly to the rear of the plane. If it is not a full flight you will likely have more room in the back to stretch out.

If your baby has her own seat and you are using her car seat for her to sit in on the plane, it will have to be in the window seat.

Stroller - you will have to remove the child and everything in the stroller to go through the xray units when going through security. You will also have to fold the stroller. Once you get to the gate, go to the gate counter and tell them you want to "gate check" the stroller. They will put a baggage tag on it and a yellow "gate check" tag. You will drop the stroller off (folded) at the end of the jetway before boarding the plane. When you arrive at your destination, they will bring up the stroller and you will collect it at the end of the jetway when you step off the plane. Sometimes it takes a while for them to bring it up, so if you are seated toward the front of the plane you may have to wait a while for them to bring up the stroller - another advantage to sitting toward the rear of the plane is that the stroller is usually there before you get off the plane.
