What's "recommended in the following areas of tipping?

curbside baggage..................

How about tipping for your luggage at the resort? If you drop off your luggage and head to the
parks before checking into your room........do you tip both ways at drop off and when you call bell service to deliver and how much????

Also using the valet parking. Tip both when you drop off the car and pick up the car????

thanks
chris

Baggage: I think the rule of thumb is $1 per bag, even $2 if they're heavy. Generally, I have tipped both when dropping off luggage and when it is brought to the room.

As far as valet, I don't know. I sometimes tip when dropping off the car, and sometimes tip when picking it up. I guess the thinking is that if you tip when dropping off, you think they may take better care of your car. I don't know and hopefully someone else can shed some light. I have noticed sometimes that when I tip when dropping the car off, they write the tip on their tag, and don't seem to expect a tip when picking up the car.

$1-2 per bag to the skycap at teh airport, same at the hotel to both the person who takes the bags and the person who delivers them, and I give $1-2 each time I drop off or pick up the car, depending on the weather and speed of service.

I usually give the valet who takes the bags out of the car $5 for 5 bags, then the bellman who brings them to/from the room $5. I tip $2 each way for valet if the service is prompt.
