Our first time cruising is coming up in a couple of weeks. Our documents give tipping guidelines for several of the staff. What about counselors in the kids programs. They probably work as hard or harder than anyone on that ship and they are not listed at all. Does anyone tip those brave souls????

Tipping is not required but I know many people do. Mainly I've heard of phone cards since they are away from home.

Kid counsellors get a normal salary (not like servers) and are not allowed to accept tips. I've heard there's some silly rule that they have to refuse 3 times, but don't know if that's true. They are able to accept small gifts. People give them things like phone cards...a thank you note or picture from your child is always appropriate.
