Tipping with Disney Dollars...

I was just wondering if anyone has tipped Mousekeeping using Disney Dollars.

I remember reading once that Disney Dollars can no longer be swapped for US currency. Is this true? If it is, I guess I should use US bills.

I'm thinking the Mousekeepers may enjoy receiving Disney Dollars a little more even if they immediately exchange them for "greenbacks".

Any thoughts?

On our last full trip to WDW (back in august). We used Disney dollars for everything. And at that time you could easily change over Disney Dollars for US dollars, and as far as I know - thats still true. At the end of our trip we had some extra - we changed it over at the hotel shop so we could buy some things at the airport. We never had a problem.

I've always used cash - I had a friend who used to work in Mousekeeping and she said that they really do prefer cash.

I'd use cash. I don't know how difficult it is for Mousekeeping for change Disney dollars to USD. Most mousekeepers probably don't want to spend all their money at WDW, so they have to go through another step to change money.

If you'd like to do something fun, how about cute envelopes to put your tips in or a handmade Disney card?

I would think that getting Disney Dollars for tips would be quite a pain for Mousekeeping (or any other Disney CM...)

You're on vacation, so you'll be spending your $$ at Disney.

They're at work- they'll be spending their $$ at the grocery store and the gas station and daycare, etc. Disney Dollars won't get them very far, and they'll need to deal with exchanging it for money to use it.

I would tip any tipped position in cash.

I do not think the maids would like Disney dollars. I highly doubt they get a kick out of getting them when they work at Disney. Even if they could exchange them I think it would be a pain to do so. What is wrong with cash?

I agree with KathyTX. I would never think of tipping in Disney Dollars. If it's easy to exchange Disney Dollars to US currency, perhaps you can exchange it and use the cash for tipping.

Okay, so it's unanimous, use cash.

That's what I was going to use anyway.

I just wanted other peoples opinion.

Thanks I needed to know the answer to this question myself!April:Pinkbounc

I'm sure the mousekeepers would prefer cash.
