I will be checking in eary this Sunday. Do you tip the staff for holding your bags while in the park ~ waiting for your room to be ready? Also, do you tip the housekeeping staff?
Thanks in advance!
Michelle

I usually tip them when I pick my bags up after they are held. We leave tips for housekeeping each day.

I tip the person who gets the bags from my car and the person who brings our bags up to our room $1+ per bag. I also tip housekeeping $1+ per room occupant, per day.

I've always questioned about tipping housekeeping. I'll finally ask the question...don't they already get paid for this ? Do they make minimum wage ? I remember making minimun wage and nobody tipped me (and I helped them SAVE money).

I know the last time we stayed at a resort (we stayed the weekend), they only replaced towels, coffee and shampoo & such.

They didn't make the bed or vaccuum.

I make sure that the room is quite straightened up (throwing a way garbage, putting shoes away, making sure clothes are put away, pretty much "cleaning before the cleaning ladies". Granted, I don't expect them to touch my clothes or personal effects, but I've seen rooms where things were thrown all over with no respect to housekeeping.

I just don't know where the line is. If I'm paying $264 a night, what part of that goes to the housekeepers ?

We never tip housekeeping because we never use them. The "privacy please" sign goes on our door when we get there and stays until we leave. If we need extra towels I will ask for them.
