I can't believe it -- we are *finally* taking the cruise. We've had to cancel at least twice before, but this time it looks like we're actually going! ;)

We've hired Tiffany Towncar to pick us up at MCO, drive us to Port, fetch us from the Port, drive us to CBR, and then return us to MCO, so it's a 3-leg trip. (Their quote -- $205 minus my $8 PassPorter coupon -- was much lower than Happy Limo, and we've used them before with no problems, so that's why we chose them.)

I just want to make sure I tip appropriately. I should tip on each leg in case I end up with different drivers, is that correct? If so, is a $10 "per leg" tip sufficient? Or should I be tipping more?

TIA for any help! :D

Sounds almost exactly like what we did last year, except we went to CBR first, then to the port, then back to MCO. We had the same driver from MCO to CBR and from CBR to port. I gave him a nice tip ($20.00) when we got to CBR and he clearly stated that I didn't need to tip him again at the port. However, we had a very pleasant ride with him and he was extremely nice, so I slipped him another five spot at the port anyway. He seemed greatful.
Very nice gentleman.

After the cruise, a major DUD picked us up to go to MCO. She was 15 minutes late, and she didn't say 2 words all the way to the airport. I paid the standard fare and she got no tip. It was a safe uneventful trip, but you can at least TRY to be nice!!

This was Tifanny Towncar, by the way...

We've done the cruise twice now and each time used TTC. The second cruise we stayed at a different hotel on the return to MCO which added to our confusion. Not TTC's they were there whenever we needed them. We tipped for each leg of the trip. BWV to port, airport BWV etc. We didn't know if we'd get the driver we requested for all of the legs of our trip. I've been using TTC's for years and would never switch. We've had some bad experiences with other car services.

My DW and I have used Tiffany many times and have tipped
$ 10.00 each way. I have usually might increase it a little to and from the port since it is a longer drive, but you are on the right track. Have a great trip !!!

We used Tiffany from AP to Poly, Poly to the Port, and Port to AP. We tipped 10.00 the first time and 15.00 for the second 2 trips since they were longer.

I think we got the same two drivers, The guy
who took us to the port was great. The lady
who picked us up had the personality of
a wet noodle. But Tiffany Towncar itself
was great and I will use them again.
But, will request the driver I want this next
time. And no she did not get a tip.

I have never used this service but use limo services frequently for business trips. I tip 15-20% of the total, so in your case, I would call it $70 per leg and tip $10ish for good service and $15 for excellent.

I learned a lesson on this one. We went from airport to Magic Kingdom stayed 3 days-had the driver pick us up from Magic Kingdom to go to ship on Saturday and upon returning, he would take us to the airport---well, (on that initial ride to MK-the driver mentioned we had him all 3 "legs")--I paid the driver on the second "leg"-(when he dropped us off at the ship)--I tipped him $50 since it was on my American Express-I paid charge of service and tip-all at once-and I THOUGHT we would have him from ship back to the airport---well, a different driver shows up that following Saturday-I was upset-I mentioned to the driver that I tipped the owner last saturday because I was told we would have "him" owner- the entire time-we did tip this new man but you can bet I contacted the owner when I arrived home-he mislead me--I will never do that again-

Bennett:
You didn't say, but I hope that wasn't TTC.
Please tell.

So, we should tip each leg (trip) by chance we should
have different drivers? Would you still recommend using
the 15-20% if it is a group or should we go more?

I really would prefer to keep name of company between myself and the company-I know there are alot of people very happy with this particular company-and I doubt that that will ever happen again-hopefully not. The owner knew I am on these boards all the time-as a matter of fact he mentioned for me to get on here and brag-which I would have done in a minute but considering what happen on our last leg-I didn't-

As for the tipping, I would tip 15% unless they did a great job then I would go higher--it also depends on if they stop at a store for you and how much luggage they help you with and all-

bennett,
No problem I was just hoping it wasn't TTC.

But remember the best was to regulate a
business is word of mouth, it give the
incentive for the company to make sure
that this doesn't happen again, as long as
he has your silence he is free to continue
this practice on other customers at his will.

I'm sorry, what I am missing here? It does not sound like the owner/driver of that car service did anything malicious or devious. Perhaps he intended to be the driver for all 3 legs but something came up and he was unable to do leg #3? There are so many reasons why he might not have been your driver, but I sincerely doubt that he did it just to pocket your tip and "force" you to tip another driver. At least there was a car there waiting for you at the appointed hour, and you got the service you had requested. If you were so upset, you could have NOT tipped the other driver and when you called the owner, asked him to pool the tip you originally gave.
