I have heard lots of posts about tipping for a 3 ngiht cruise. How about a 4 night cruise. I would like to know how much I should count on for tipping and how much for each person.

Also should I do the basic for the tipping or go above and beyond since they will probuably (especially the servers) will give us top service.

I want to know what everyone else has done.

Thanks everyone. This is our first cruise and hopefully not the last.

Help! I'm really confused about tipping!
We'll make it easy. Of course, you should never feel that a reward is automatically expected from you. But it is customary to give gratuities in recognition of service, which you will most likely be treated to in abundance aboard the ship. As a guideline, may we suggest the following:

Per Guest per cruise 3-Night 4-Night 7-Night
Dining Room Server 11.00 14.75 25.75
Dining Room Asst. Server 8.00 10.75 18.75
Dining Room Head Server 2.75 3.75 6.50
Stateroom Host/Hostess 10.75 14.50 25.25
Dining Manager Your Discretion
Room Service Your Discretion

For your convenience, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to bar, beverage, wine, and deck service tabs. All gratuities can be charged to your room charge.
At the Walt Disney World® Resort, 15% is the customary gratuity at restaurants and bars.

Thanks prymsu I already saw that on the Dis I want to know if I should do more on the tipping?

Anyone else?

We were on the Wonder last year and tipped over and above the suggested amount due to the service we recieved. If the service is average (which I wouldn't expect) then we would have tipped the suggested amount. We hadn't planned on tipping extra for our head server but he was so attentive that we gave him extra also.

Since we're on the same cruise, I thought I'd let you know what I was planning with the tipping. I calculated what it the recommended tipping will be for my family of 6 and then rounded all the numbers up to a reasonable (affordable) amount. That's the amount I'm ready to tip, depending on the service I can add above the "set" amount.

Since I've never cruised either, hopefully you'll get someone with more experience to respond to this too!

Thanks disneydudette1 and mickeymom629.

What I am planning on doing is tipping the average amount to everyone but if the head server goes above and beyond then I will tip him extra. Now just to have all of that above info with us on the cruise so I will know how to tip. I don't want to forget.

mickeymom629 looks like our cruise is getting closer and closer. I just got my passport picture yesterday and in a week or 2 I will go down an apply for the passport. Wow the time is flying by.
