Tipping nursery cast members

Do we tip the nursery cast members? What are some good 'thank you' gifts for nursery cast members?

Wouldn't they fall in the same group as the kid's club CMs? They can't accept cash tips. Although, I've read, if you offer 3 times, they'll accept it, but it has to be turned in to be used for a kid's club staff party. And things like gift cards are turned in to be used as door prizes at the party.

I don't think they do. The requirements (training) for working in the nursery are different than working in the kid's clubs.

I would think they would appreciate the same "tips" that the kid's club CMs like - candy, and current magazines seem to head the list.

We have given bags of individually wrapped candies. This way they can all share. And yes we feel we should tip these members because they do provide additional services for your child specifically. This includes feeding, naps, changing if necessary, and everything else related to child care. I don' thave a position on the other kids clubs since I don't have a kid in that area yet.

This is our first cruise with our little one (she's turning 1 on the cruise), so it's a whole new ball game for us. Did you just tip cash and offer it until the accepted?

I meant that we tipped the candies. I didn't tip them cash on top of that. I worked at WDW in a non-tipping role that was usually tipped. So I had to refuse, and it is difficult for people to do that. Since they area non-tipped position, I don't want to force something that may be against guidelines, hence the candy substitution.

I usually do what Quellman does. I bring a medium sized gift bag filled with individually wrapped treats. I usually do miniature or "fun" sized candy, but this last cruise, I bought a large variety of brands and flavors of gum since it's not something they can buy on the ship. The CMs seem to really appreciate the treats.

You can tip cash to anyone within youth activities (nursery, club, lab, edge, vibe), but they don't get to keep it individually, it goes right to the managers and put into a pot. That pot then pays for social gatherings such as team builders or very occasionally port adventures, rewards from anything like a donut or mickey bar in a meeting to an internet voucher to shirts and hoodies at the end of a season

Tipping (in whatever form) is a way of saying "Thank you". You typically don't thank someone for something until after the fact. So, at the end of the cruise.

I usually deliver the gift the last night of the cruise. This last cruise my DD wanted to deliver the gift earlier in the day so she took it with her in the afternoon of the last day when she went for an activity. She was 12 so she had check in/out privileges.
