Tipping Mousekeeping

We usually make envelopes with a mickey head with the word keeping next to it and usually make those up before we go on holiday so that money is taken care of:thumbsup2

I was reading earlier on the US bit of this forum (before I found the UK bit) that H(M)ousekeeping is not a tippable position & that they are not supposed to take the cash and infact most of them hand in to their boss & thosse that don't if get caught could be fired, done by the tax man.....
I was planning on tipping daily as I always do when staying in a hotel for more than a night, but I don't want the money going to Disney (they'll be getting enough off of us) so is there anyway to check this out?

Actually I may call Disney tmx & ask!

As PP's have mentioned, Mousekeeping is a non-tipped position, but as you can see many people do tip :)

Last year I was good friends with a CM in Mousekeeping on my college program at WDW, and I know for a fact that she took all her tips, along with her colleagues. She didn't hand them to her boss, but have no idea if she declared them or not :confused3 But she, and others, did keep them.

They were not 'pooled' either - as in shared with everybody. If they were cleaning that room, and there was a tip, then they took it and kept it :)
