Tipping mousekeeping question?

We tip all hotels housekeepers $5 a day. It doesn't matter if we are at WDW for 14 days or at the Hampton Inn for one night. We tip!

Us too! We would never dream of not tipping and do throughout our stay.

Marvin12,

As for the maid taking a picture of herself, I can't believe anyone would be that stupid. All the guest would need to do was send that picture to the resort management and the housekeeper would have lost her job. Sounds like a pretty far fetched story - sorry to the OP.

Sounds like one of those Urban Legends...

but then again it might have been the housekeepers last day on the job

I tip everyday and usually leave about $5 since there is 2 adults and three kids in the room.

We tipped each day for mousekeeping. For bell services, my husband thought it was $3 per bag and proceeded to tip the guy that took the bags from the car to the lobby $12. He then 20 minutes later tipped another $12 to the bell services guy that brought the bags to the room. :rotfl2: They must have told mousekeeping, cause we came home with more soap, shampoo, coffee, showercaps, and lotion than we knew what to do with! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I ended up making Disney soap gift baskets for family. :flower:

Count us in for tipping $2 a day for our room (just the 2 of us), and we try to graciously tip all bellhops, skycaps, waiter/wiatress etc.. anytime we see one stressing out from working to hard we tend try to also verbally let them know how much we apperciate their efforts. Sometimes that brings a bigger smile then just the tip we leave. :flower3:

Gotta love those CM's :worship:

Marvin12,

After reading your first post, I checked to see where you are from. I had never heard of a candy canyon before. You should have left us all wondering what that was!!

I DID NOT MAKE THIS UP!!!!!!

It is totally true and I resent your remark.

After being sent by the company I work for to help out at one of our other properties back east and being assigned to the housekeeping department as a room attendant, I can't imagine NOT tipping the housekeeping staff. They have a back breaking thankless job. I have seen the condition some rooms are left in and very rarely saw a tip left for the attendants.

When we stayed at POP earlier this year, we left $3.00 a day (2 of us) for the maid. One was so nice and even left us a thank you note for the tip and complimented us on leaving the room neat.

We leave $5 per day regardless if there is 2, 3 or 4 of us. But I usually straighten the room myself before I leave for the day. :confused3 Old habits die hard.
