Ok, this sounds dumb, but here goes.
I always leave Mousekeeping envelopes everyday when we stay onsite.
Staying at Vistana at the end of the month. Should I leave something on the day we check out?? :confused3

I know we will not have daily maid service, but someone will have to come in on check out day and clean up.

I do.

I generally leave only a $5.

for the daily maid service I leave $2 every day.

Good question. I was wondering this too.

We'll be staying at a Time Share in Novmber. (Marriott Grande Vista) I know we won't get housekeeping..but I'm wondering..do they do anything? Refresh towels on a daily basis? Or is that only a request? Do they make beds? (I thought I had seen that some other timeshares do that.) Just wondering what to expect. And yes...what people usually tip for a week when they stay at a timeshare.

Thanks so much!

Our experience of time shares is it depends how many days you are there. if you are there for a week or longer you will get a clean once a week.

They will change beds/towels etc/ clean bathrooms/kitchen etc and hoover etc.

The only place there has not been a mid week clean has been Summer Bay.

They will not come in to make beds or refresh towels in between times.

You can probably request clean bedding/towels or maybe even pay for a daily maid service if you want it depending on the resort.

We tip the maid.

spiceycat,

Does the Vistana offer daily maid service?? I was under the impression that the unit would be cleaned before we checking in and once again when we checked out.

So if they do not have daily maid service, do you leave a lump sum at the end of the week??

I don't want to go there and leave nothing for housekeeping, but I have never stayed a full week in a condo before...only for 4 day weekends.

Thanks,
Darlene

Vistana gave us a mid week cleaning - it was a surprise to me.

Marriott doesn't do anything. the unit is cleaned before you arrival and after your leave.

for the Marriott there is a washer/dryer in the 1-bedroom and up. for the studios there is a laundry mat each to the pools. (bring your own detergent - their is expensive). there is no ice machine on property. for the 1-bedroom it doesn't matter (ice maker) - but for the studio this can be a problem. (even worst you can't buy ice on property....)

most timeshares don't do anything - unless you want to pay extra for this service. So I was very surprise with midweek cleaning - we arrived on Sat - the lady came on Wednesday.
