I'm currently on the Disney Treasure(7 nights) and prepaid my gratuities. What would be a nice extra tip for the room attendant and the 3 waiters/waitresses? Any help would be great. Thank you

Disney gives you a few marked envelopes & paper slips, night or two from end of cruise, showing your prepaid tips with their names to hand them.

If tipping any extra (in that envelope or directly to them) it’s personal preference. I have given extra but it’s not a requirement when daily tips are charged within your cruise. I usually will give more to my cabin attendant than any other. More to my direct table attendants than the supervisor.

On non Disney cruises I’ve only given extra to our cabin attendant. Disney a bit different since we bond with the dinner staff, keeping them for the whole cruise.

We normally double the required tips. I add it to their onboard account - makes it easier for them to send home or spend.
Same.

You can go to get services and they can increase the tips on the form that they give you and charge your onboard account instead of giving them cash.

It used to be that cash was the most popular, but the crew I have spoken to in recent years prefers it in their onboard account.

I usually add $20 for my room attendant (assuming they were good, which they almost always are) and only add to the servers if they did something extraordinary.

In the past I have tipped the recommended amount through onboard ship charge account and then added extra in cash in the envelope. My reason for that was the onboard portion was easy for them to send home and the cash for them to have for their personal needs (shopping, etc.) but that was before debit cards and online payment apps were popular. Still undecided how I want to handle for our upcoming cruise.

I usually give my stateroom attendant, who are always excellent and extra $20 for a 3-4 night cruise.

I haven't take an 7 night in along time. It would depend on how many in the stateroom etc. Maybe $50 extra for 2 people.

On my 3-4 night, I usually give head server $20, assistant $10-15 or a $20 if I am ordering lots of cocktails. This is for 2 people.

I always bring cash, put it in the assigned envelopes and give to them on the last nights dinner. And of course I let them know how much they are appreciated.

Also, if they have really gone above and beyond, mention them by name on the survey! Or better yet go to Guest Services and request a compliment card. Those mentions go a long way towards promotions and things like extra time off, etc.

I can't say all ships are this way, but most offer "traditional" set time dining as an option with the same server team every night. We have had the same server team every night on Celebrity, NCL RCCL, HAL and are scheduled to have the same on Princess next month. So in my experience, Disney is no different in regards to bonding with your server team.

With other lines it depends if you have fixed or any time dining. If you have fixed dining you will be at the same table/have the same team. If you have any time and will be going around the same time every night, they can try to get you at least in the same area as the team, but there's no guarantee. And if you're varying the times you go (or the dining room you go to depending on the ship) it's much harder for them to give you the same team or area.

I have only had one cruise that I did not have a traditional fixed seating MDR experience. And in that case, because it was an NCL ship when they went with anytime dining, we learned to make a reservation for the next day at the same time with the same server team.

Yes, it CAN be done with any time. But it also cannot if people don't want to make reservations and are there are different times every night.
