Stupid question, but I've never used a car service before and have no idea what the customary tip is for using their limo service.

There will be 6 of us. 3 adults 3 kids.

Also, what kind of shape are their limos in. Do they look old and dated or look relatively new?

TIA
Emily

We used Happy Limo when we sailed in March. We tipped the recommended 20%, and a little extra for the trip to port because the guy waited an extra hour for us due to our flight delay.

The cars we got were in really good condition. Looked very new and the drivers are dressed very professionally. At least the ones that we got.

We've used Happy Limo 3x to PC and will use them again in Oct. We've booked as stretch limo all 3x and all 3x got upgraded to a huge Escalade type thing. Very clean and prompt. :thumbsup2
We always tip the 20% esp due to the free upgrade.
Mousesavers.com has a coupon and if you mention the coupon/Mousesavers, they don't automatically add the tip on. I prefer to tip the driver in person in cash rather than have them get it eventually from our cc company. It's just seems more personal that way. :goodvibes

Tip 20% of the fare amount to the driver, this is customary. He goes out of his way or does something great for you, I doubt he will say no to a little additional. We got one of the white stretches and it was in great shape. Very well maintained and very clean. We returned to the airport in the stretch Navigator and it was also nice.

Approx what would the cost for 2 adults 3 kids from Universal to the Port be ????

I have been negociating a deal with happy limo and was price quoted a great deal. It was for round trip but do you pay 20% gratuity each way or just 20% on the total cost of the roundtrip?

We paid 20 percent each way. On the way to the port we ordered a sedan and got a stretch limo. On the way home we got the sedan. Our driver on the way back was Robert. I had to run in and get some cash from the ATM and gave him a bit extra. We also got price quotes from other companies and they matched them. We also negotiated a free car seat. We will be using them again in 2011.

20% for each leg. So take the total and split in half and then tip on that. You may not get the same driver each way.

never having used Happy limo BUT having been a limo driver (my friend owned the company) I offer this advice on tipping:

BE CAREFUL!

most NY limo companies INCLUDE the tip into the trip amount....e.g.: trip to JFK might be $70 plus 20% tip so you are charged $84.......I you give driver a tip at arrival on top of the $84 he will have received $30.80 or more than 50% of the original cost of the fare......:scared1:

so, be aware of what you are paying for....tipping is nice but double tipping is wasting your money!

anybody KNOW how the billing at Happy Limo goes? I'd be interested........:confused3

Most Orlando limo companies will outline it for you - either on the website or on the phone (and confirmation paperwork) or both. Some companies include the tip when renting a limo and some don't, but as far as I know do not include it with any sedan trips. Each company will clarify it for you. Happy did not include the tip in the price of the limo for our transfers (I think Tiffany Town Cars will include it for limo reservations).

As far as I know, HL includes gratuity (or used to) but if you said you're a mousesavers.com reader, it's at your discretion. I prefer to give it directly to the driver, seems more personal and instant cash for him/her, not waiting for cc processing.

Q15.
Is the tip included in the ground transportation fare? If not, how much should I tip the driver?

The ground transportation fares quoted on this web site do not include tips. We recommend that you tip your driver between 15-20% of fare.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that it's included in the fare, just that it would automatically be added to the price. Similar to how some restaurants will add it on for say groups of 10 ppl or more.

From mousesavers.com

Happy Limo adds no prepaid gratuity on any vehicle for MouseSavers.com readers! That's right, the gratuity is at your discretion. (If you are happy with the service, a tip of about 20% is usual.)

Oh ok. I wanted to make sure we weren't giving conflicting information. Thanks.
